Cowboy electric bicycle: connected, intelligent and affordable
The recent Belgian start-up Cowboy wants to shake the electric bicycle market with a fresh new contender said to be “good looking, intelligent, connected and affordable”.
Cowboy has been created by young entrepreneurs Karim Slaoui, Adrien Roose and Tanguy Goretti. The trio is know for creating or participating in innovating start-up projects, such as Take Eat Easy.
“We are working on the project since January 2017”, confesses Tanguy Goretti, “the objective is to develop and sell online an electric bicycle that is good looking, intelligent, connected and affordable”. Cowboy has clearly been created to attract the part of the public that doesn’t yet believe in electric bicycles as a means of transport.
Online at € 1.399
Electric bicycles are still seen as an expensive product with an average price of € 2.200 in 2016. Cowboy electric bicycle will be sold at the attractive price of € 1.399, starting in spring 2018 exclusively online and first of all in Belgium.
Technically, the bicycle is equipped with an intuitive and automatic electric assistance, an intelligent and removable battery, integrated and connected lights, protected starting procedure, theft detection via satellite and wireless updates. “The Cowboy production will be done in Europe”, adds Goretti.
At the Eurobike 2017 convention, the three founders already received the award in the “start-up” category for their electric bicycle. “Of course it’s a excellent news for us because this award validates the way we developed Cowboy’s first model” rejoices Tanguy Goretti.
