After FlixBus now also FlixTrain in Germany
Mobility company FlixMobility, well-known for its flashy green long-distance buses, announced on Tuesday that it will provide two train connections in Germany, between Hamburg and Cologne and between Berlin and Stuttgart from March 24th on.
Cheap and comfortable
FlixMobility claims to be able to offer cheap and comfortable train connections between several large German cities like Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Berlin, Hannover, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. The company wants to call in at 28 destinations by the end of April.
FlixMobility became widely known with its flashy green long-distance buses. Since 2013 the company already brought more than 100 million passengers to 1.400 different destinations in 26 countries. Passengers usually are youngsters: 33% of them are 18 to 25 years old.
The mobility company now wants to diversify and focus on a new market. “We did our homework and studied some trains to see how it all works and which target group we can attract”, FlixMobility’s co-founder Jochen Engert explained. “A train actually is nothing more than a big bus.” FlixMobility claims that it can succeed “where others failed”.
