Full electric FlixBus on 150 km long Paris-Amiens line
The French branch of German originated FlixBus together with its electric bus partner B.E. Green are launching a daily full electric long distance bus service between Paris and Amiens. “Using a full electric bus on a regular daily line over a distance of 150 km is a world’s first”, B.E. Green founder and CEO Patrick Mignucci believes.
200 km range
French B.E. Green, daughter of Autocars Dominique, is a specialist in offering all sizes of electric bus transport. It bought two Chinese Yutong buses with a range of 200 km on one battery charge, that will be operated on the FlixBus line between the French capital and the city of Amiens, starting somewhere in April 2018.
12 euro for ‘full charge’
The buses cost some 400.000 euro each, which is 30% more than a conventional diesel bus, but Mignucci counts on the lower fuel costs – 12 to 15 euro for a full electric charge compared to 70 euro for a full diesel tank – and low maintenance costs to make a profit over a period of 6 to 8 years. Passengers will pay 12 euro for a one-way ticket.
