Ninatrans orders 10 hydrogen trucks
The Belgian transport company, Ninatrans, based in Haasrode, has ordered hydrogen trucks from Nikola. This makes Ninatrans a forerunner in the Belgian transport sector and even on a European level.
Hydrogen trucks are not very well known yet, but Ninatrans believes in this technology. The transport company has just placed an order at manufacturer Nikola. With this acquisition of ten trucks Ninatrans wants to make a significant contribution to the environment, but also gives a signal to the Belgian transport sector.
The company once again proves to be a forerunner with this technology. Ninatrans has previously bought trucks on gas and the company also used the so-called ‘super trucks’ for some time.
However, you will not yet see hydrogen-powered trucks on Belgian roads very soon. There are still extensive tests scheduled, that are likely to take place at European level in 2020. It is expected that these hydrogen trucks will effectively run on Belgian roads by 2022. By then, hydrogen filling stations should also be implemented in Belgium. Until now there are only two for the whole Belgian territory.
