Belgium: 300 pre-orders for electric Porsche Taycan
Manager of Porsche Import (D’Ieteren), Didier t’Serstevens, declared on Thursday that there already were 300 pre-orders for the new Porsche Taycan. Clients can put a 2.500-euro deposit to reserve one of the brand’s future fully electric cars.
Yesterday, the Brussels Motor Show opened the doors to its Dream Car show in Hall 1. During the press conference, Manager of Porsche Import (branch of D’Ieteren), Didier t’Serstevens, declared to newspaper L’Echo that the Belgian market already counts 300 pre-orders for the future Porsche Taycan.
‘Fifteen Porsches a day’
It’s the first time the Stuttgart brand decided to open a pre-order book for a new car. Clients can put a deposit of 2.500 euro to reserve one of the vehicles. Once the Taycan is launched, that amount can be reimbursed if the client doesn’t transform his reservation into an order form.
Compared to other markets, Porsche is faring well in Belgium. “We sell fifteen Porsches every business day”, happily declares the manager. Last year, the brand continued to grow and reached a market share of 0,6% over the year.
Half the segment
Porsche took the opportunity of the Dream Car show – where its booth is situated for the whole duration of the Brussels Motor Show – to present to the Belgian market the new generation of the Porsche 911.
Those three figures are on the back of numerous cars in Belgium. In its segment, the 911 accounts for half of all sales, or about 550 cars per year. Counting all registrations, classics included, there are today more than 40.000 Porsches in Belgium. “We should exceed the 50.000 mark in the upcoming years”, ends Mr t’Serstevens.
