Shared YodaCity e-motorbikes to launch in Brussels
This summer, Brussels will welcome a new free-floating shared service called YodaCity. This new start-up offers small electric motorbikes/bicycles for rent. Depending on the users’ driving license, speed is limited to 25 or 45 kph.
After bicycles, electric bicycles, scooters, and cars, the free-floating shared vehicle services in Brussels will grow this summer. Young company YodaCity will bring its small electric vehicle – resembling a crossing between a motorbike and a mountain bicycle – to the Belgian capital city.
Baptized e-motorbike by its creators, the little white machine is a sort of speed-pedelec. Except that on it, you won’t do much pedaling. Its top speed varies depending on the users driving license. No license will limit the e-motorbike to 25 kph while others will be able to drive at speeds up to 45 kph.
Once seated on the machine, the user makes use of a phone holder that will also act as a phone charger. Of course, judging by the speeds, YodaCity’s e-motorbikes will be provided with helmets.
To ride on a YodaCity, you will pay one euro to start. For the rest of the journey, prices are set at 25 cents a minute, such as any other shared scooters of bicycles. While it isn’t active yet in Brussels, pre-orders are already open. Two solutions are available. For 5 euro, YodaCity will offer 10 trips and 10 euro will give the user 20 trips plus 30 free minutes.
