Already 18.000 use Belgian Smart Mobility Planner
Since the introduction of the Smart Mobility Planner one month ago, the Belgian app already has more than 18.000 users.
The four Belgian public transport companies – SNCB/NMBS, Stib, Tec, and De Lijn – have launched the first integrated route planner. The Smart Mobility Planner integrates all data in real time and offers the best travel options by combining several ways of sustainable transport.
Today www.smartmobilityplanner.be is still a beta version. The first version was tested by some 3.800 users. Their reactions and suggestions led to a second version, which still is to be improved. In the meantime, it already has 18.000 users.
With the Smart Mobility Planner, the traveler can select the best option for public transport by combining train, tram, bus, or bike. Even the shared Villo! bikes are integrated into the project. Later other transport modes, like shared cars, will be added.
“Goal is not to create an autonomous platform but to share the software with other mobility providers”, explains SNCB.
