De Lijn to install new real-time info screens
Flemish public transport company, De Lijn, is going to install new information screens informing passengers in real-time when their bus or tram will arrive. The new displays will be added to the 400 already existing screens, but they will have a different look.
The battery-powered and energy-efficient LCD displays will inform people about the arrival times of buses and trams based on the GPS position of the vehicles. Passengers can read the number of the line, the destination, and the time of arrival.
Earlier, Axentia installed similar information screens for Brussels Public transport company, MIVB.
2,7 million euros
115 of the 280 new screens will be used in Antwerp, 69 in East Flanders, 63 in Flemish Brabant, 19 in West Flanders, and 14 in Limburg. De Lijn frees 2,7 million euros for it.
