Audi adds second version of e-tron to electric portfolio
End of this year, Audi will add a cheaper, less powerful version of its e-Tron to its model portfolio. The Audi e-Tron 50 Quattro will still have two motors and all-wheel drive. Its purchase price will be 70.950 euros, 12.550 euros less than the e-Tron 55 Quattro, on sale since last year.
The car will have two electric motors totaling 230 kW of power and producing 540 Nm of torque. They will get their electric energy from a smaller 71 kWh battery pack. The result is a 300-km range, according to the recent (more realistic) WLTP cycle.
The car will accelerate to 100 kph in 7 seconds and has a regulated top speed of 190 kph. It can be charged in different modes, also fast charging until 120 kW per hour. To save energy, only the rear engine works in normal conditions. The car is also lighter than its more powerful brother. The pneumatic suspension of the latter is taken over.
