KPMG rewards employees for using public transport
Consulting firm KPMG pushes its employees to swap their company cars for more environmentally friendly solutions. From February 1st, every employee taking the step will get 10 euros per day of mobility budget to be reinvested in mobility solution subscriptions. With this incentive, the company hopes to reduce its CO2 emissions by 350 tons.
Worldwide consulting company, KPMG, is one of the biggest advocates of clean mobility for its employees in the country. Since 2018, the firm allocates 5 euros per day to every employee who swaps a company car for other eco-friendly solutions. That amount is integrated in a mobility budget to be spent on mobility solutions subscriptions, such as a train pass.
The company’s incentive gave good results. In 2018, the CO2 emissions of its fleet dropped by 158 tons (-4,4%). Even better, they dropped by 245 tons (-6,8%) in 2019.
For 2020, KPMG is doubling down and offers 10 euros per employee per day. Their aim is to convince even more employees to make the step. It should also reduce the stress induced by the hours of bumper-to-bumper traffic of the morning commute.
-350 tons of CO2
With this doubled incentive, KPMG wishes to reduce the CO2 emissions of its fleet by 350 tons. That would represent a drop of 10% or minus 3,36 million kilometers driven. That’s enough to go 84 times around the earth.
