Belgian Cycling Factory to take over Bikeville in Beringen
As of May, the Belgian Cycling Factory (BCF) will take over Bikeville in Beringen. BCF is the renowned producer of bicycle brands like Ridley, Eddy Merckx, and Corsa, among others. Bikeville, in Beringen (Limburg), is the incubator for companies active in the bicycle and mobility industry. The take-over contains the working space of eleven start-ups and scale-ups.
BCF will now dispose of the entire site, including a special ‘climate room’, and a unique wind tunnel used to test materials and techniques for bicycles. The tunnel can generate wind speeds of 108 km/hour to measure aerodynamics and turbulence. It is, therefore, also interesting for skaters, skiers, producers, and product developers.
Until recently, Bikeville was a shared project of the Limburg Investment Fund LRM, the Belgian Cycling Factory, Bioracer, Lazer Sport, and Voxdale. BCF is now taking over all shares.
The bicycle producer plans to focus more on innovation. “We’re convinced that our experience and expertise can help many companies, and we can still learn a lot to give the (inter)national bicycle industry a boost,” concludes Jochim Aerts, CEO of BCF.
