ALD launches used-car leasing
Belgium’s biggest vehicle leasing actor, ALD Automotive, launches 2life Lease, a used-car leasing offer. The aim is to put cars coming at the end of their lease back on the road for a cheaper fee, and a minimum period of 12 months. ALD promises an average monthly cost reduction of 20%.
After Lizy, D’Ieteren Auto’s second-hand car leasing platform, giant ALD Automotive is spreading the wings of its activity with a new used-car leasing offer. Now is the best time to do so as the Covid-19 health crisis left its mark on the budgets of all companies in the country.
ALD takes advantage of its current activity to launch another one. When cars are coming at the end of their lease, ALD will now put them back on the market instead of selling them.
“It’s only after a thorough cleaning that ALD Automotive makes these cars available again for lease. These cars will have spent an average of three years on the road. A contract is possible for at least 12 months,” notes the company in a press release.
80 cars are currently available, and ALD promises an average monthly cost reduction of 20% compared to a new vehicle. The cost might be lower, but the offer is still all-inclusive. “Maintenance, repairs, road assistance, unlimited summer tires, and all risks insurance are included,” adds ALD.
‘Important growth potential’
“The growth potential of this market is enormous, and the fact that others are launching into it, advertises the market for every actor,” notes Sam Heymans, CEO of Lizy. Lizy, a subsidiary of D’Ieteren Auto and born out of the Lab Box incubator, has been offering second-hand cars through its online platform for about a year.
“Today, our volumes are higher than before the corona crisis. We lived through it very well. Many customers have contacted us to reduce the cost of leasing because many companies have had no choices but to lower their cost base,” adds the CEO.
