69% of Belgian companies offer alternative mobility solutions
According to the latest Arval Mobility Observatory, realized before the lockdown, Belgium is one of Europe’s most advanced markets in terms of alternative mobility solutions within companies.
69% of them offer alternatives such as bike leasing, carpooling, public transport passes, or mobility budgets. Plus, Arval says that Belgium is in the top five in terms of the electrification of its automotive fleet.
In its latest Mobility Observatory, Arval paints a pretty picture of Belgium’s fleet sector. Today still, one in two companies ensures that company cars support the recruitment of new talents.
45% for alternative energy
The leasing company notes that companies are already engaged with alternative mobility solution programs. According to data collected from 300 Belgian companies, 69% of them already offer at least one alternative mobility solution, such as bike leasing, public transport passes, carpooling, or the mobility budget. The number of bicycle leasings, for example, has increased by 21%.
Furthermore, according to the survey of 5 600 companies in 20 countries, Belgium is in the top five of the European energy mix transition. 45% of the country’s companies have already introduced alternative energy sources in their automotive fleet. Many choose hybrids, plug-in hybrids, or fully electric vehicles.
“After the coronavirus health crisis, companies must now adapt to their employees’ new modes of transport. Car leasing contracts could be lengthened since fewer kilometers were driven. Plus, electric cars could convince more and more people,” indicates Vincent Houart, an expert at Arval.
