Fiat introduces My Dream Garage car-sharing app
To combat some of the issues linked to range anxiety, Fiat introduces a new car-sharing app dedicated to clients of its new electric 500. Based on a yearly subscription plan, customers can choose between 13 cars from the FCA range and book them for one day or more. In Italy, the monthly fee starts from €99 up to €299 for the platinum plan.
After introducing its first battery-electric vehicle, Fiat builds a new customer experience around it. Like many electric cars, the new electric Fiat 500 is perfect for the city but its 42 kWh battery offers a somewhat limited range of 320 km (WLTP). For those who wish to drive to the mountains and back in a weekend for leisure, Fiat has created My Dream Garage.
Fully digital app
This new app mixing short-term car-sharing and mid-term car renting is reserved for customers of the new electric Fiat 500. These motorists have access to 13 models of the FCA range from the Fiat 500L up to the Maserati Levante. Clients can configure the ‘garage of their dreams’ in the app, and then select the car they prefer, and book it for a predetermined number of days.
At the moment, four-yearly subscription plans are available. In Italy, the monthly fee starts at €99 up to €299. That latter Platinum plan opens the doors to book vehicles such as a Jeep Wrangler or a Maserati. Whatever the subscription, the cars are available for 60 days of rent per year.
Available in nine countries
Fiat’s My Dream Garage service is available in Italy, France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, and Poland. Once booked, the cars are available in one of the 300 Leasys centers located in major cities and at airports and train stations in Italy. In the other eight countries, cars will be available through the dealer network.
“It’s a whole new way of managing mobility. This app has been conceived for maximum user flexibility. The subscription guarantees 60 days of mobility, to be used during the whole year, even one day at a time. At FCA Bank and Leasys, we strongly believe in the development of revolutionary mobility solutions and plan to continue to spread and support the culture of alternative mobility,” declares Giacomo Carelli, CEO of FCA Bank.
