Zeekr X shows off ‘luxury’ interior and confirms Smart #1 shared specs

The Zeekr X is the first model from Geely’s young premium brand to journey to the European market. To that end, the compact SUV finally gives a peek under the hood of its third model while its minimalist but luxurious interior is also shown.

While Zeekr has confirmed it aims for a European launch later this year with the X and the 001 shooting brake, more details on this market strategy are expected to follow in the coming days. For now, we get the specs and interior of the compact SUV, which shares a platform with the upcoming Volvo EX30 and the Smart #1 and Smart #3.

560 km of range… kind of

There is no real surprise in the spec sheet, as the Zeekr X gets the same 66 kWh battery and the same 272 hp or 428 hp drivetrains as found in the Smart #1 and #1 Brabus. The sprint to 100 km/hour can be made in 5,8, or 3,7 seconds, respectively.

Zeekr mentions a range of 560 km and 512 km, respectively, but those are Chinese-market CLTC figures, usually around 20% more optimistic than the WLTP range estimate used in Europe. So a 400-450 km range should be more realistic.

For the interior, Zeekr is aiming for a luxurious minimalist vibe, with high-quality materials and some clever tech /Zeekr

In-car fridge

The Zeekr X is 4,450 mm long, 1,836 mm wide, and 1,572 mm high, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. The interior has a minimalist design, with a floating center armrest and a large central display, which houses almost all onboard functions and commands.

Features include a moveable center screen, facial recognition, and an in-car refrigerator, although it remains to be seen if these features will also make the trip to Europe.

Chinese pricing starts at just over €25 000. Adding shipping and VAT costs, a European starting price of around €35 000 should be possible, but more info on that should follow soon.
