Italian luxury electric brand Aehra has revealed the final names chosen for its first two models. The electric SUV will be called Impeto, while the electric saloon will be known as Estasi. Both share a platform with three electric motors, 805 hp, a 120-kWh battery, and more than 800 km range.
Aehra also announced that it has lodged a 1.2 billion-euro development plan with the Italian government. Italy’s first all-electric car brand hopes to break ground on a huge plant at Mosciano Sant’ Angelo, Italy.
Two models
Aehra is a new self-proclaimed ‘ultra-luxury’ electric brand from Italy. It’s even the country’s first all-electric car brand. After announcing its first plans in 2022, the company is now switching to second gear and showcasing its two near-production models.
The previously announced SUV is now named ‘Impeto’ (impulse in English), while the saloon will be known as ‘Estasi’ (Ecstasy in English). Both models feature a striking design, with a cab-forward approach, ultra-low aerodynamic coefficient, and a long, 3-meter wheelbase.
Luxury and scissor doors
Not only is Aehra revealing the names of its future products, but the Italian company is also showcasing the interior of the two near-production models. The new models present a more conventional dashboard than the unnamed concept car.
Instead of a massive screen at the base of the windshield, we find a portrait-style touchscreen for the infotainment and a digital cluster just above the oblong steering wheel. The Impeto and Estasi are said to be available as four or five-seaters and should retain the concept’s impressive scissor doors.
800 km of range
Under the two out-of-this-world designs sits a common platform built around a 120-kWh battery. It powers three electric motors—one at the front and two at the rear—making up to 805 hp, launching the two EVs to 100 km/hour in under three seconds.
Charging should also be as fast, if not class-leading, thanks to a 925-volt architecture. Both Italian EVs can charge up to 350 kW, meaning 10 to 80% of charge in only 15 minutes.
€1,2 billion
Unlike other brands of European origin, Aehra will not build its cars in China. The Italian brand will remain true to its roots as it plans to build an enormous 207,000 square meters facility at Mosciano Sant’ Angelo. Aehra announced having lodged a 1.2-billion-euro development plan with the Italian government.
