Belgian automotive and mobility sector under one roof

In 2026, the most important federations and associations in the Belgian automotive and mobility sector will move to a building in Diegem, on the Flemish outskirts of Brussels, under a single roof.

The building, offering more than 7,000 square meters of space, was acquired by the importer federation Febiac (bought from building contractor Ghelamco). All partner federations under the Mobia umbrella (Febiac, Traxio, Renta) will manage it.

Sustainability first

The building will be overhauled and refurbished in 2025 to meet a top-level sustainability score. All organizations in the mobility sector are invited to acquire or rent office space in the building.

Frank Van Gool, recently appointed new CEO of importer federation Febiac, sounds enthusiastic: “The building in Diegem was not only an excellent investment opportunity for us, but it will also contribute to better cooperation between the different Mobia members and all related actors. After a thorough preliminary study, we’ve chosen the site and the building.”

Luc Missante, MD of sector federation Traxio, adds: “The site is very well situated. It has direct access to the highway network, a train station nearby, and the biking highway (‘fietsostrade’) passes in front. Adequate parking facilities are foreseen. Our employees and visitors will find a wonderful working and gathering space here.”

Stijn Blanckaert, the new MD of car rental federation Renta, concludes: “Renta and Renta Solutions have always highly valued cooperation with other actors, but we’ve also attached high importance to safety in the critical processing we offer our members. In this building, both ambitions will be perfectly reconciled.”

The automotive sector has been under pressure lately, and it’s evident that the key players want to bring the violins in tune for the challenging times ahead. Being all under a single roof can be of great help. We hope that many other mobility organizations will jump aboard and that the established names in the sector will highly appreciate their input.
