Chinese manufacturer Segway-Ninebot, the global leader in e-scooters with more than 13 million Ninebot eKickScooters on the road, is launching its next generation of eKickScooters. Seven new models are involved. With that new generation, the quality, such as an improved suspension system and the driving range of almost every model, increases slightly again.
Like all manufacturers of e-scooters, Segway has focused heavily on improved smart display and suspension in its third-generation models this time around.
For example, the new Ninebot E3, F3, and Max G3 models, the standard daily-use models launched a while back at CES in Vegas, include a call notification from your smartphone on the display, which you can use to find the speed at which you ride the vehicle and the battery status.
Max G3 flagship
The top model is the Max G3, which has a range of 80 km and faster acceleration thanks to its maximum power of 2000W. The model, which will be on the market in the first quarter of this year, also has dual hydraulic suspension on both front and rear, which provides better stability and a more pleasant riding experience.
If you double-charge the device with a separately available DC charger, it can be charged in three or even two hours. The Max G3 can, in principle, reach a top speed of 45 km/hour, but the speed in Belgium is legally limited to 25 km/hour.
The two-wheeler can also be unlocked remotely via AirLock. The model also has an improved lighting system with an automatic headlight that is three times brighter than before. The Apple Find My feature, for iPhone owners only, also helps you find your device if you can’t remember where you parked it.
A firmware update later this year should also allow the Max G3’s smart display to be used for navigation purposes, eliminating the need to place your smartphone in a holder on the handlebars.
However, according to some sources, Segway plans to make this new feature available. The price of the device has not been announced yet.
E3, F3, and GT3 Pro
The cheaper models E3 (short travel range) and F3 (medium travel range), with a maximum power of 800 W, also received an upgrade: Both models have front and rear suspension, and thanks to the lighter magnesium frame and convenient compact folding mechanism, they are easy to take anywhere. The F3 also received a longer footboard.
For the genuinely adventurous e-scooter users, it is looking forward to the launch of the GT3 Pro 1 that Segway is introducing in Belgium.
In some countries, this device is already available with a top speed of 80 km/hour and a range of up to 135 km thanks to its 7,000-watt output (dual 3,500-watt motors) and 2,160Wh battery. Still, a modified model had to be developed for Belgium because the cross-shaped lighting on the front did not comply with Belgian regulations.
The model will normally be launched in the second quarter of this year. In the US, the price tag is 1,699 dollars.
