Electra opens its first fast-charging station in Luxembourg

European fast-charging specialist Electra has opened its first operational station in Capellen, Luxembourg, a well-known ‘tank’ stop for Belgian and Dutch drivers heading south on holiday. The company is active in nine European countries—Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria—and has 426 stations and 2,520 charging points.

The new charging station is strategically located at Shopping Capellen, close to the busy A6 highway. Thanks to the nearby shopping facilities and restaurants, the station has great customer potential.

Up to 80% in 20 minutes

Both shoppers and passers-by can benefit from the ultra-fast charging infrastructure while drinking a coffee, shopping, or enjoying a meal in one of Shopping Capellen’s restaurants.

The Electra station offers charging speeds of up to 400 kW, which charges the battery from 20% to 80% in just twenty minutes. Drivers can reserve a charging session 30 minutes in advance via the Electra app for a stress-free and seamless experience. Even when the Shopping Capellen stores are closed, drivers can go to Electra 24/7 to charge their electric vehicles.

Urban areas

“Electra distinguishes itself from other providers of charging stations for electric vehicles by focusing exclusively on fast charging and by installing its stations in urban areas, such as near supermarkets, restaurants, hotels, and public parking garages,” explains Saskia Roosen, Head of Asset Management BeLux at Patrizia, manager of Shopping Capellen.

With Electra as a partner, we can contribute to a greener future and, at the same time, offer a practical service to EV drivers.”
