Pre-sales starts for Lynk & Co’s 009 six-seater PHEV SUV (update)

Geely brand and former Volvo sibling Lynk & Co, known in Europe for its monthly subscription model, is launching a new global flagship PHEV model: the six-seater SUV ‘009’. It’s opening for pre-sales now in China, with four trim levels offered and prices ranging from 330,000 to 435,000 yuan (42,105 – 55,500 euros).

It is Lynk & Co’s biggest model, so the available space is huge: 5.24 m long, 1.999 m wide, and 1.810 m high. Meanwhile, the wheelbase is long, 3.160 m. That allows for three rows of seats, and Lynk & Co claims it is the world’s first SUV equipped with dual 180-degree electric rotating second-row seats.

The second row of passenger seats can slide forward and backward by 550 mm, and the third row by 125 mm. The interior also has 42 storage compartments.

Still, there is room for a 590 mm deep trunk, offering 300 liters of luggage space and a ‘hidden’ compartment of 20 liters underneath. According to Lynk & Co, there are 42 storage compartments inside the cabin.

This SUV uses Geely’s SPA Evo platform for large electric hybrid vehicles of over five meters. This allows for an extensive battery and advanced features like rear-wheel steering. So far, no details are given about the battery size and the full-electric capacity of the PHEV.

Up to 630 kW or 844 hp

The Lynk & Co 009 comes in three flavors: a base model with a 1.5T engine, a front motor with 160 kW, a rear motor with 230 kW (530 kW or 710 hp combined), and two models based on a 2.0-liter turbo (gasoline) engine.

One of these is a dual-motor version that uses a 123 kW electric motor on the front axle and a 230 kW motor on the rear (540 kW/724 hp combined). The other has three electric motors besides the ICE, the 123 kW in the front and two 160 kW motors in the rear. Here, we’re talking about a combined system power of 630 kW (844 hp).

There are ternary lithium battery pack options, both from CATL, with 44.85 kWh and 52.38 kWh capacity. That corresponds to 220 km and 280 km/268 km pure electric (CLTC) ranges. With the ICE combined, ranges are extended to 1,355 km and 1,350 km/1,443 km.

This top version is said to accelerate from 0-100 km/hour in four seconds and offer a myriad of special features like CDC continuous damping control, and thanks to the Lynk & Co digital AI chassis, functions such as a ‘waltz U-turn or crab mode.’

Two 30-inch screens

The cockpit, available in three color options (beige, orange, and black), is dominated by a 30-inch, 6K frameless display that spans nearly two-thirds of the dashboard. The driver also gets a thin 12.66-inch instrument display panel behind the steering wheel and an augmented reality 95-inch AR-HUD display.

Top versions feature LiDAR and now parent company and sister brand’s Zeekr’s G-Pilot H7 smart driving solution, which supports the city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) without the need of high definition maps, high-speed autonomous driving or remote parking.

One of the most remarkable features is the 32-inch 6K entertainment touchscreen in the back, which folds down from the roof for passengers in the back. There is even a 9-liter slide-out fridge that can also keep food warm (-6 to 50°C) for those on the second row.

Lynk & Co is said to be a ‘global model,’ but its availability in Europe and its prices and eventual subscription options are unknown for the time being. First, the focus will be on Europe’s long-awaited fully electric Lynk & Co 02.

Since October, you can buy or lease it for a competitive price compared to its siblings, the Volvo EX30, Smart #1, or the Zeekr X, starting at €35,495. However, the subscription formula hasn’t been offered yet.
