Skoda unwraps fastest production model yet: Elroq RS

Skoda has officially launched its fastest production car ever — and it’s not a sedan or a hot hatch. It’s the Elroq RS, a beefed up version of its compact electric crossover that combines everyday practicality with a big shot of performance.

Unveiled at Milan Design Week, the Elroq RS builds on the recently introduced Elroq 85 Sportline, pushing output from 286 to 340 horsepower thanks to a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive layout.

Quicker than Octavia RS

That setup, borrowed from the Volkswagen ID.4 GTX, enables the electric SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/hour (62 mph) in just 5.4 seconds—a full 1.2 seconds quicker than the standard model and quicker even than the venerable Octavia RS. The top speed is limited to 180 km/hour, as higher speeds would instantly drain the battery.

The powertrain is paired with a retuned chassis featuring sport suspension lowered by 15 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear. Standard progressive steering sharpens driver response, while upgraded front brakes and optional Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) adaptive dampers round out the performance upgrades.

Mamba Green

Visually, the Elroq RS stands apart with a more assertive take on Skoda’s current design language. It features a gloss-black grille, bespoke front and rear bumpers, and a full suite of black trim elements, including mirror caps, window surrounds, roof rails, and badging.

RS-exclusive 21-inch alloy wheels and a striking paint option called ‘Mamba Green’ complete the look. LED lights, both front and rear, with rolling indicators, are standard.

Inside, the cabin leans into sporty refinement. Microfiber sport seats with lime green contrast stitching, carbon-look decorative inlays, and stainless steel pedal caps set the tone. But sportiness aside, the driver and his copilot can benefit from electric massage seats.

560 kilometers of range

The 13-inch infotainment display features RS-specific graphics, and tech amenities include a 12-speaker Canton audio system, four USB-C ports, wireless phone charging, and an electric tailgate. The cargo capacity remains unchanged from other Elroq models, ranging from 470 to 1,580 liters. The towing capacity is 1.8 tons.

The Elroq vRS is powered by the largest battery pack available in the range: 84 kWh (gross). It offers a WLTP range of up to 560 kilometers—slightly lower than the more efficiency-focused Elroq 85 due to its performance spirit.

Charging is handled via 185 kW DC fast charging (10-80% in 26 minutes) or 11 kW AC charging for a full overnight refill. Official pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
