The E-Rally Ardenne Roads, a regularity rally for standard series production electric vehicles, is coming up again in May. To incentivize Belgians to participate in the rally, title sponsor Volkswagen offers the best Belgian team the opportunity to enter the E-Rallye Monte Carlo in October.
The Belgian Ardennes have a history of hosting regularity rallies, where the goal is not to finish as fast as possible but as close as possible to the pre-set time. Usually, these events are created for classic cars, but since 2023, the E-Rallye Ardenne Roads has opened the doors for electric vehicles to participate in the fun.
Regularity rally with an electric twist
The E-Rallye Ardenne Roads has two classifications: the actual regularity rally, where the average speed is calculated based on the arrival time, and a class for the amount of energy used, with a different coefficient for each model in accordance with their theoretical energy consumption.
Volkswagen has been the title sponsor for the event since 2023 (it’s officially called the ‘E-Rallye Ardenne Roads by Volkswagen ID.’). To sweeten the deal for Belgian entrants, D’Ieteren, the Belgian VW distributor, is sending the highest-classed Belgian duo to the E-Rallye Monte Carlo, which is held from 15 to 18 October.

“This is a prize of around €2,500. But that’s not all! Just like last year, the winning duo will become part of the Belgian VW Club team, which won the team classification of the E-Rallye Monte Carlo in 2023 and 2024. And, of course, we aim to defend our title,” says Joke Boon, PR Manager for Volkswagen Belgium.
One or two-day event
Everyone with a standard electric production vehicle is welcome to participate in the E-Rallye Ardenne Roads, held from 22 to 24 May 2025. The two-day event covers around 500 km, but a one-day event for businesses is also available.
Entrants need a One Event Regularity license from the Belgian RACB or an FIA international LSC Licence (Low-Speed Competition). The participation fee is €950 excluding VAT for the two-day event or €750 for the one-day rally, not including accommodation and breakfast. Only 40 vehicle spots are available.
