Geely’s cheapest EV gets an update in China

The Geely Panda Mini, the Chinese manufacturer’s cheapest electric vehicle, has been updated for 2025 with new exterior and interior styling. The two-seat microcar features a CLTC range of 210 km and is available in its domestic market from just €6,000.

Geely, the parent company of several European car brands such as Volvo, Lotus, Polestar, and Smart, also sells vehicles under its own name in China’s domestic market. The cheapest electric model is the Panda Mini, which was launched in 2023 and sold over 284,000 units in the first two years of production. Now, the tiny car gets a not-so-tiny update for 2025.

Cuter exterior, more modern interior

The facelifted Panda Mini has a more cutesy look, with bright colors (Puff Pink, Rolling White, Bamboo Green, and Warm Rice) and a black bar connecting the two round headlights. The front and rear bumpers also get a redesign, making the Panda Mini look less awkwardly tall.

The dimensions stay the same, however: 3,085 mm long, 1,522 mm wide and 1,600 mm high, with a wheelbase of just 2,015 mm. The interior features two seats, a 69-liter trunk, and basic comfort features such as an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9.2-inch center screen, a smartphone holder, and a bag hook. As part of the facelift, more of the vehicle controls have been moved to the center screen.

Up to 210 km CLTC

The drivetrain is as basic as you would expect from a microcar in this price range: a 17 kWh battery provides power to the 30 kW (41 hp) electric motor on the rear axle. This allows for a top speed of 100 km/h and a CLTC range of up to 210 km. Charging from 30 to 80% takes 30 minutes at a 22 kW DC charger.

Pricing of the 2025 Geely Panda Mini starts at 49,900 yuan (€6,000). At this price point, it competes with the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, which is also available in a five-door variant with different battery options and has sold around 1.5 million units since its launch in 2020.
