Chinese electric car manufacturer Xpeng has unveiled its updated X9 for 2025, a luxury electric minivan with advanced comfort and driver assistance functions. The model has been on sale in China since 2024 but is now going international, with a European launch expected in the second half of 2025.
Xpeng is already present in Europe, including Belgium, with the G6, G9 SUVs, and the P7 saloon, all fully electric models. The Chinese manufacturer is preparing to launch its flagship electric minivan internationally. For the occasion, the X9 has received a comprehensive update for 2025.
More comfort than ever for the 2025 Xpeng X9
The 2025 model year of the Xpeng X9 has not changed much in terms of exterior design. It is still 5,293 mm long, 1,988 mm wide, and 1,785 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. The only changes on the outside are new exterior colors and 20-inch wheels with floating center caps, as pioneered by Rolls-Royce.
On the inside, however, passengers are treated to more comfort than ever. The first and second rows have NASA-inspired ‘Zero Gravity’ seats, which reduce pressure on the hips and back and have an optional 16-point massage system. The third row also gets electrically adjustable backrests that can fold completely flat.

A large 21.4-inch display provides rear passengers with entertainment during drives, while devices can now be charged with a 220 V power outlet. A 10.8-liter compartment with refrigeration and heating functions keeps food and drinks at the optimal temperature.
Up to 740 km CLTC with ultra-fast charging
Regarding driving, the Xpeng X9 is powered by an 800 V platform, with 94.8 kWh LFP or 105 kWh NMC batteries. According to the CLTC cycle, it offers up to 740 km of range. Depending on the battery pack, fast charging (10-80%) takes just 11.7 to 20 minutes.

The Xpeng X9’s base models get a front-mounted 235 kW (320 hp) motor, while the top-spec models feature an additional 135 kW rear motor for 370 kW (503 hp). Active air suspension and rear-wheel steering provide high comfort levels and manoeuvrability, with a turning radius of just 5.4 meters.
Xpeng has abandoned Lidar for its driving assistance systems and is now focusing on vision-based technology for its Turing AI ADAS systems, which are standard across the X9 range.
From €43,300 in China, but how much in Europe?
Xpeng plans to launch the X9 in Europe in the second half of 2025, but the model is already available in China for 359,800 yuan (€43,300). The top-end ‘Starship’ model costs 419,800 yuan (€50,500). European pricing has not yet been communicated, but the X9 will cost more than the G9, available in Belgium from €59,990.
