Today, mobility platform Bolt celebrates the third anniversary of its taxi booking service in Belgium. Bolt was launched in February 2022 and now offers its service in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent, Bruges, Namur, and more.
Three years after it arrived in Belgium, Bolt draws a very positive balance that reflects the image of urban mobility in evolution. The continued demand reflects the mass adoption of flexible, shared, and connected mobility services.
More than 100,000 users
More and more Belgian users are opting for shared mobility solutions. Between the beginning of 2022 and now, activity on the platform increased by 580%. Today, over 100,000 users log in to the app monthly for their daily or occasional trips. Bolt is now among the five most downloaded travel applications in the country.
Bolt is increasingly seen as a reliable solution and alternative to public transport due to its focus on flexibility, accessibility, and catering to everyone’s specific needs. Bolt has also gradually diversified its offering, with hybrid and electric vehicles and options adapted to people with reduced mobility.
Bolt is also celebrating the first anniversary of Bolt Business in Belgium, a company service that aims to gradually replace the systematic use of company cars with shared mobility, which is more flexible and better tailored to the real needs of employees and companies.
Ambitious goals
Over the next three years, Bolt aims to expand its presence in all major cities in the country, increase the share of electric vehicles, and launch new, even more targeted categories.
Some interesting facts: the most popular boarding points are Brussels-South Station and Flagey Square, and the most popular exit points are Brussels Airport and Brussels’ Grand Place.
The longest trip was from Brussels to Monaco: about 1,200 km, and the drive took 14 hours. The shortest trip was only 100 meters, from a bus stop to the user’s home.
Bolt’s mission is to make cities for people by reducing reliance on private cars through shared mobility alternatives. The company intends to leverage its platform to drive meaningful change in sustainable urban mobility.
