Geely’s sub-premium brand Galaxy has unveiled its latest model: the A7 EM-i sedan. It’s a hybrid model, boasting a combined range of over 2,000 km and a very low fuel consumption even when the battery is empty. A launch date has not yet been announced, but the Geely Galaxy A7 is expected to offer a competitive price point.
Geely Galaxy was founded in 2023 to fill the gap between the Chinese giant‘s Geometry and Zeekr brands, offering sub-premium new-energy vehicles, including plug-in hybrids and fully electric models. We previously saw models like the electric Galaxy E5 SUV and the Galaxy E8 sedan.

Mid-size hybrid sedan
This latest model, the Galaxy A7 EM-i, slots in below the E8. It measures 4,918 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a 2,845 mm wheelbase, making it a mid-size sedan. The design looks elegant, without trying to be the most distinctive, but that is expected, given the price.
Under the hood, as is the case with many Chinese plug-in hybrids, the Geely Galaxy A7 EM-i is powered by a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an output of 112 horsepower, paired with a more powerful electric motor.
Over 2,100 km of combined range
Not all of the drivetrain details have been released by Geely, but according to CarNewsChina, the A7 is likely to copy the Star 8 EM-i’s drivetrain, with a combined power output of 350 hp. Two battery options will be available: 60 or 130 km of EV range (according to the CLTC cycle).

More impressive is the combined range: apparently, an ultra-long range variant is coming with a combined driving range of over 2,100 km. Thanks to the efficient hybrid drivetrain, even with an empty battery, a fuel consumption of around 2 liters per 100 kilometers should be possible.
Around €12,000
Geely has not yet communicated the launch date and pricing of the Galaxy A7 EM-i. According to rumors, the model is expected to reach a price point of around 100,000 yuan (approximately €12,200). Geely has previously hinted at an international launch for the Galaxy brand, but there is no word yet on when this will happen and which models will make the journey West.
