Leapmotor further expands into Europe

The Chinese electric car manufacturer Leapmotor is continuing its expansion in Europe with the support of its Stellantis partner. In the past two weeks, the company has established sales partnerships in seven new European markets, ranging from Ireland to Bulgaria.

Specifically, Leapmotor is now also present in Ireland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Croatia, and Bulgaria. This brings the number of sales and service points on the European continent to 600 and has been achieved through “a series of strategic appointments and partnerships executed in line with Leapmotor’s European development plan,” according to Stellantis.

Leapmotor International

Leapmotor and Stellantis are linked through a partnership initiated in 2023. At that time, Stellantis invested in the Chinese manufacturer and announced that it would acquire a 20% stake in the Chinese company for €1.5 billion. This was accompanied by the establishment of the joint venture Leapmotor International, which has exclusive rights to export, sell, and manufacture Leapmotor products outside Greater China.

Leapmotor International then made its market debut in France, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Greece, and Romania. The number of European markets has since been significantly expanded. By the end of 2025, Leapmotor aims to have more than 700 locations in the G10 countries and the most important import markets.

“This rapid expansion underlines our commitment to building a truly customer-centric EV ecosystem in Europe,” comments Danilo Annese, Head of Europe Commercial Operations at Leapmotor International. “We are not only scaling our presence but ensuring that Leapmotor owners enjoy comprehensive support and service wherever they are.”

Proximity through strategic partnerships

With the current and planned expansion, the average journey time to a Leapmotor sales and service location across Europe should be less than 25 minutes. According to the brand, this proximity is intended to enhance “customer convenience, build brand trust, and support faster service response times and parts availability, crucial factors for improving the EV ownership experience.”

For the market launch in Ireland, Leapmotor has established a strategic partnership with Gowan Auto. The company already acts as an importer for all Stellantis brands and Honda. Gowan Auto will include Leapmotor in its distribution center in Citywest, Dublin. Irish customers will be able to purchase the T03 city car and the C10, which is available in both BEV and EREV configurations, from September 2025.

For the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, and Croatia, Leapmotor is building on a collaboration with the Swiss Emil Frey Group, as is already the case in Switzerland. Finally, for Bulgaria, the manufacturer is working with SFA Automotive LTD, the existing sales partner for the Stellantis brands in the country. The market launch here also includes the T03 and the C10.
