Euro Space Center opens virtual trip-to-the-moon attraction

On Sunday, July 6, 2025, the Euro Space Center in Transinne (province of Luxembourg, Belgium) will celebrate the official opening of its brand-new attraction. Five years after its reopening, the center is taking a new step with Lunar X.

‘Lunar X’, as the virtual trip to the moon is called, is a space-themed experience designed to simulate a real space mission. It all begins in the spaceport, where visitors and participants put on their virtual spacesuits and choose a role, such as pilot, mission commander, flight engineer, mission analyst, robotics engineer, geologist, or infrastructure operator.

Countdown

Then they board the lunar module. The interior is very realistic, featuring lounge chairs, side windows, control panels, and sound effects; everything is just right. Then the countdown starts, ready for take-off.

During the virtual journey to the moon, the crew members experience all phases of a real mission: orbital deployment, lunar trajectory, lunar landing… and even some anomalies.

Lifelike experience

LUNAR·X is not a simulator. It is an adventure. A fiction rooted in reality,” the press release says. With this attraction, the Euro Space Center wants to inspire children, young people, families, and enthusiasts, and let them experience the feeling of a real space flight.

Lunar X was created based on surveys of visitors. They learned that most dreamed of more action, a more tactile experience. Many said they wanted to step into the shoes of an astronaut, enter a real capsule, and experience a real space flight — from launch to landing on another world.

Starting this summer, LUNAR X will be the 11th activity on this iconic course, alongside physical simulators, gravity experiences, and the Mars village. The Euro Space Center is located 1, rue devant les Hêtres, 6890 Transinne, Belgium. Bookings: +32 61 65 01 33.
