Californian start-up Aptera Motors has revealed the Launch Edition of its highly efficient solar car. Thanks to its solar array, it can recover up to 40 miles (64 km) of range per day. Production is set to start in late 2023, but Aptera still needs funding to build its vehicles.<\/p>

Aptera's quest for ultimate efficiency began in 2005 when the previous iteration of the company presented the Aptera 2 Series, a plug-in hybrid vehicle with a fuel efficiency of 0,78 l\/100 km thanks to lightweight construction and a teardrop-shaped design. Aptera went belly-up in 2011 but was re-formed in 2019 by its founders.<\/p>
