Though Mercedes has already launched an all-electric version in the guise of the EQE SUV, the brand is still supporting the combustion-engined versions of its large SUV GLE for which it has announced a facelift. Asides from some mild tweaking on the outside, Mercedes has added a new batch of diesel models with mild hybrid assistance and upgraded plug-in hybrids with more zero-emission range. The changes also apply to the coup\u00e9 version.<\/p>

All the engines benefit from more power, but the GLE 400e 4Matic model gets the biggest hike with 41 hp extra. In addition, the facelift now turns every GLE into a mild hybrid, with the two diesel options, 300 d and 450 d, featuring a 48-volt battery and an integrated starter-generator. The results are an average CO2 emission of 179 g\/km for the first nameplate and 199 g\/km for the latter.<\/p>
