Chinese Gotion High Tech, one of the ten leading global players in battery technology with sites in the USA, Japan, Germany, and Singapore, has signed an investment agreement with the Moroccan government to build North Africa's first EV battery gigafactory. The Kenitra city project will cost 1.3 billion US dollars (12.8 dirhams).<\/span><\/span><\/p>

The first phase is set to have a production capacity of 20 GWh, but Gotion plans to raise the plant's capacity to 100 GWh. The construction will start in 2026, and the total investment is expected to reach 6.5 billion dollars.<\/p>
