Volvo Group (the parent company of Volvo Trucks and Renault Trucks) and Daimler Truck (Mercedes-Benz Trucks) have signed a binding agreement for their new joint venture to develop a software-defined vehicle platform, which was announced earlier this year. After regulatory approvals, the new company is expected to be founded in the first half of 2025.The announcement first came in May 2024, when Volvo Group and Daimler Truck signed a preliminary agreement to form this new 50\/50 joint venture.
