Volkswagen is preparing to launch the ID Unyx 07, a mid-size electric saloon that will debut a new Chinese-developed platform and broaden the company\u2019s electric range in the world\u2019s largest car market. The model\u2019s main task is to be perceived as a Chinese rather than a German Volkswagen to help resurrect sliding sales.<\/p>

To do so, the vehicle is produced by Volkswagen Anhui, a joint venture between the German carmaker and Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC), in which Volkswagen holds a majority stake. As is often the case with new Chinese cars, the model has leaked in regulatory filings with China\u2019s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). That can only mean that market approval is imminent.<\/p>
