LKAB, a state-owned Swedish iron ore mining company, has taken delivery of a unique electric mining truck from Scania. The 8x4 heavy tipper, nicknamed \"Sleipner\" after Odin\u2019s legendary eight-legged horse, has entered operations in the Malmberget mine, transporting waste rock.<\/p>

LKAB's Malmberget mine is an iron ore mine that extends more than 1 km below the Earth's surface, producing millions of tonnes of iron ore per year. But mining iron ore also generates waste rock, which must be cleared from the mine. And that's where Sleipner comes in.<\/p>
