With its 7:34.931 lap time, it left the Audi RS Q8 and the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coup\u00e9 in the dust.<\/p>\n<p>After setting blistering, but not uncontroversial, lap times<a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/en\/2024\/10\/30\/chinese-xiaomi-su7-ultra-prototype-becomes-fastest-4-door-on-nurburgring\/\">\u00a0with the SU7 Ultra sedan<\/a>, Xiaomi is back at the N\u00fcrburgring with its taller brother. The YU7 GT is set to be announced on Thursday, May 21, but regulatory filings already revealed some key details about the sports SUV.<\/p>\n<h4>Nearly 1,000 horsepower<\/h4>\n<p>The Xiaomi YU7 GT is the hotter variant of <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/en\/2025\/06\/27\/rush-on-tesla-y-killer-xiaomi-yu7-200-000-sold-in-three-minutes\/\">the Ferrari Purosangue-inspired SUV that went on sale last year<\/a>. It features a dual-motor setup with a peak power output of 990 hp, powered by a new 101.7 kWh battery, offering over 700 km of (CLTC) range.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-186535\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/008agv4yly1id5ufp06vjj32bc1qib29-scaled.jpg?resize=640%2C421&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/008agv4yly1id5ufp06vjj32bc1qib29-scaled.jpg?w=2560&amp;ssl=1 2560w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/008agv4yly1id5ufp06vjj32bc1qib29-scaled.jpg?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/008agv4yly1id5ufp06vjj32bc1qib29-scaled.jpg?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The motors are part of the new HyperEngine V8S EVO powertrain, with a maximum speed of 28,000 rpm and silicon carbide (SiC) power modules. That means a higher power output and better efficiency, with Xiaomi claiming up to 98.38%.<\/p>\n<h4>Chassis tuned on the N\u00fcrburgring<\/h4>\n<p>The suspension has been tuned on the N\u00fcrburgring and is called the Jialong Chassis Master Edition, with dual-valve dampers and dual-chamber air springs for total body control. An electronically limited-slip differential on the rear axle ensures all of this power is properly transmitted to the wheels.<\/p>\n<p>With its 7:34.931-minute laptime, the Xiaomi YU7 GT is nearly two seconds faster than the Audi RS Q8 performance (7:36.698), and four seconds faster than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT Coup\u00e9 (7:38.925) around the 20.8-km lap.
