Four months after Hyundai unveiled the Ioniq 3 at Milan Design Week, the compact electric \u2018Aero Hatch\u2019 now has its first European price list<\/a>. Dutch customers can order it from \u20ac27,995, with showroom arrival expected at the end of September. Belgium will follow, but Hyundai Belux says only that local prices will be announced \u201cafter the summer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The entry-level Select combines a 42.2 kWh LFP battery with a 108 kW (147 hp) front motor, 250 Nm of torque, and a WLTP range of 344 kilometers.<\/p>\n

The Long Range Select costs \u20ac31,995 and uses a 61 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. Although its motor is slightly less powerful at 99.5 kW (135 hp), its official range rises to 497 kilometers.<\/p>\n

Both versions use Hyundai Motor Group\u2019s 400-volt E-GMP architecture. The smaller-battery car accelerates from 0 to 100 km\/h in 8.8 seconds, while the Long Range needs between 9.5 and 9.6 seconds. Top speed is up to 170 km\/h. Charging from 10 to 80% takes 29 minutes.<\/p>\n

Strong equipment from the start<\/h4>\n

The Dutch range comprises six trim levels and nine battery and equipment combinations. Prices rise from \u20ac27,995 for the 42 kWh Select to \u20ac41,995 for the 61 kWh N Line Evo. The latter\u2019s 19-inch wheels and extra equipment reduce its WLTP range to 428 kilometers.<\/p>\n

Even the Select includes a 12.9-inch central screen with Hyundai\u2019s new Android Automotive-based PLEO Connect system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, and a broad set of driver-assistance systems.<\/p>\n

An 11 kW onboard charger is standard. However, the much-publicized 22 kW AC capability is not standard across the range. In the Netherlands, it is part of a \u20ac1,500 EV Pack offered only on the Prime and N Line Evo.<\/p>\n

That pack also adds Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and preparation for future V2X functions. A separate \u20ac300 V2X Pack with an 11 kW charger will become available on several versions from January 2027.<\/p>\n

At 4.155 meters long, 1.80 meters wide, and with a 2.68 meter wheelbase, the Ioniq 3 sits between a conventional small hatchback and a compact crossover. Hyundai quotes 441 liters of total luggage capacity, including a particularly deep 119-liter \u2018Megabox\u2019 beneath the trunk floor.<\/p>\n

Not quite a Kia EV3 rival<\/h4>\n

Despite the badge, the Ioniq 3 is not Hyundai\u2019s direct equivalent of the Kia EV3. The EV3 is 14.5 centimeters longer, has 204 hp, a conventional 460-liter trunk, and battery options of 58.3 and 81.4 kWh.<\/p>\n

It offers a WLTP range of 436 to 605 kilometers and starts in Belgium at a catalog price of \u20ac37,990, or \u20ac35,190 with Kia\u2019s current conditional August promotion.<\/p>\n

The Hyundai is therefore smaller, slower, and less SUV-like, but also potentially around \u20ac6,000 to \u20ac10,000 cheaper. Its most convincing version may be the \u20ac31,995 Long Range Select, which combines almost 500 kilometers of range with a price normally associated with smaller-battery city EVs.<\/p>\n

The Kia EV2 is technically and commercially a closer relative. It uses the same 42.2 and 61 kWh battery sizes, but its more upright SUV body reaches up to 317 and 453 kilometers respectively. Belgian catalog pricing starts at \u20ac26,690, while an August campaign temporarily lowers the advertised entry price to \u20ac23,290.<\/p>\n

That places the Ioniq 3 in an increasingly crowded field alongside the Renault 5 E-Tech, Cupra Raval, and Volkswagen ID. Polo, Citro\u00ebn \u00eb-C3, MG4, and BYD Dolphin.<\/p>\n

The Volkswagen already starts at \u20ac24,995 in Germany and offers up to 454 kilometers, while the Renault 5 currently starts at \u20ac30,100 before Belgian promotions.<\/p>\n

Why Belgian pricing may differ<\/h4>\n

The Dutch price cannot simply be copied to Belgium, even though both countries apply a 21% VAT rate. The \u20ac27,995 Dutch figure already includes \u20ac687 in BPM registration tax and \u20ac1,095 in delivery costs, but the commercial structures differ as well.<\/p>\n

Hyundai Motor Netherlands in Sassenheim is a 100% Hyundai-owned sales subsidiary. In Belgium and Luxembourg, Hyundai is imported by Korean Motor Company NV, trading as Hyundai Belux and operating within the independent Astara distribution group. That gives the Belgian importer more freedom over trims, equipment, margins, and launch support.<\/p>\n

Kia\u2019s organization is more symmetrical. Kia Nederland BV and Kia Belgium NV are the local national companies in their respective markets, so differences in EV2 or EV3 prices mainly reflect local equipment, campaigns, and market strategy rather than a separate independent importer.<\/p>\n

For Belgium, Hyundai confirms the same 42.2 and 61 kWh batteries, up to 497 kilometers of range, and charging from 10 to 80% in 29 minutes. However, there is still no confirmed Belgian price or exact showroom date.<\/p>\n

If Hyundai Belux keeps the Long Range close to the Dutch \u20ac31,995 benchmark, the Ioniq 3 could become one of the strongest price-to-range propositions in Europe\u2019s compact EV market.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
