Starting this winter, Brussels Airlines will operate scheduled flights to the Far North, specifically to Evenes in Norway and to Kemi and Kittil\u00e4 in Finland. “Winter vacations in the Arctic are becoming increasingly popular,” the airline says.<\/p>\n

In addition to scheduled flights, Brussels will continue to partner with travel agencies for charter flights to the Far North.<\/p>\n

3 weekly flights to Kittil\u00e4<\/h4>\n

Brussels Airlines has indeed been operating charter flights to the Far North in collaboration with travel agencies. Still, the airline sees sufficient demand to launch its own scheduled flights this winter.<\/p>\n

As for Finland, there will be 3 weekly flights to Kittil\u00e4 between December 10 and March 27, and two weekly flights to Kemi between December 25 and March 10. In February and March, Brussels Airlines will also fly once a week to Evenes in Norway.<\/p>\n

Nordland and Lapland are known for their unspoiled natural beauty – hopefully mass tourism won’t change that – and are perfect for viewing the Northern Lights during the winter months.<\/p>\n

Around 18,600 seats<\/h4>\n

TUI fly and KLM already offer direct flights to Kittil\u00e4 from Amsterdam. During the winter season, Voigt Travel also operates weekly flights from both Amsterdam and Rotterdam to destinations in Lapland. And several airlines now offer direct flights to Finnish Lapland from D\u00fcsseldorf as well.<\/p>\n

Based on a total of 78 round-trip flights for the winter season, it is estimated that, assuming an Airbus A319 is used, there would be approximately 9,300 passengers on one-way trips, or 18,600 seats sold for round-trip travel.<\/p>\n
