The Chinese Chery Holding will unveil the production version of two electric Delivan vans at the IAA Transportation in Hannover.<\/p>\n

The Delivan brand, specifically targeting the European market, was launched at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Chery will be entering the growing European electric LCV market in 2027. Earlier this year, the Chinese conglomerate launched its Delivan LCV brand specifically for Europe at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show.<\/p>\n

There, it showed a medium-sized concept, but without specifying technical details. At the coming IAA Transportation in Hannover, the first two production versions will be unveiled.<\/p>\n

Compact and medium-sized vans to begin with?<\/b><\/h4>\n

While the two Delivan models will only be shown on September 14th, expectations are that they will target the compact and medium segments. A third, larger model is expected later on, completing the Delivan range.<\/p>\n

Delivan has announced the new vans were developed specifically for the European market on a dedicated EV platform. This would mean that the models are completely new, and not based on existing Chinese vans. It will be interesting to see which technical approach the brand takes. Battery chemistry, size, and subsequent payloads, 400V or 800V, towing capacity\u2026 difficult choices existing brands also face.<\/p>\n

LCV ecosystem and conversions. In addition to<\/b>\u00a0vans, Delivan will present three complementary layers to aid LCV customers. Its \u2018DELIVAN PRO\u2019, \u2018DELIVAN X\u2019 and \u2018DELIVAN I\u2019 programs cover service and uptime, conversions and customization, and intelligent fleet technology.<\/h4>\n

This shows the brand is aware of the importance of an ecosystem that helps customers conduct their business, not only launching vans.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, the Delivan stand will also show four vans that European partners have already converted. The brand will be announcing all-important collaborations with established converters on our continent. One of them is Gruau, which has been actively involved in the development from the start.<\/p>\n

Chery has not yet announced which European markets the vans will debut in. The brand is already active in several European countries<\/a> with its passenger cars.<\/p>\n

But it says Delivan will get a dedicated approach. Delivan\u2019s European headquarters are located in Liverpool, and a German subsidiary has been created for the EU market.<\/p>\n

Growing electric LCV market<\/b><\/h4>\n

With the Delivan brand, Chery is looking to capitalize on the European electric van market, which is expected to boom in the coming years.<\/p>\n

While the market remains relatively limited, it grew significantly during the first half of 2026. According to ACEA, 13.2% of the 742.759 vans sold in the EU during the first six months of the year were battery-electric. While 79.1% of customers still prefer a diesel engine, electric sales grew by 41.6% year-on-year.<\/p>\n

The competition will be fierce over the coming years. Besides \u2018traditional\u2019 brands launching electric vans, new brands are popping up.<\/p>\n

Kia is pushing with its PBV\u2019s<\/a> and Hyundai<\/a> has re-entered the eLCV market. On top of that, Chinese brands like the established Maxus line-up and newcomers like Farizon<\/a> and BYD target the European LCV buyer.
