The European Commission has selected 46 new strategic projects to strengthen the extraction, processing, and recycling of critical raw materials in the European Union, to reduce dependence on countries such as China.<\/p>

Two Belgian projects - one by Umicore in Hoboken and one by Comet Traitements in La Louvi\u00e8re - were also selected, as were four in the Netherlands. All the projects together represent approximately 21,1 billion euros in planned investment.<\/p>
