With the unveiling of the G9L at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, Xpeng launches its new flagship. The large electric SUV can be ordered straight away, with a price tag starting at \u20ac74.990 in the Belgian market.<\/p>\n

The G9L has to support Xpeng\u2019s claims to the premium segment. It is launched at a time when Xpeng is growing in Europe, while facing tough competition in its home country, China.<\/p>\n

A little over 284.000 cars were delivered during the first three quarters of 2026. This means a 9.2% drop compared to the same period in 2025, a top year for the brand with total worldwide sales of 429.000 vehicles. Xpeng’s financial results are improving, but the brand still loses money.<\/p>\n

Europe is an important market for Xpeng, with cumulative deliveries totaling 60,000 vehicles this year. In Belgium, Xpeng\u2019s registrations are up from 1.185 in 2025 to 1.748 for the first three quarters of 2026. This puts the brand 30th in the Belgian registrations.<\/p>\n

Advanced comfort<\/b><\/h4>\n

The G9L Xpeng launched at the Paris Motor Show is the brand\u2019s new flagship model. It is a large electric three-row SUV offering 6 or 7 seats, depending on the version. It measures 5.120 mm in length, 1.999 mm in width and 1.788 mm in height. With all the seats in place, the boot offers up to 367 liters of capacity, plus a 65-liter frunk.<\/p>\n

The \u2018L\u2019 in the new car\u2019s name doesn\u2019t mean it’s an elongated version of the G9; it’s a completely separate model. Xpeng says the \u2018L\u2019 stands for luxury, with materials and technology that should support the naming.<\/p>\n

The interior features extra sound insulation and active noise cancellation. Moreover, there is acoustic glass and Michelin-developed acoustic tires.<\/p>\n

The G9L has a 23-speaker sound system and a 21,4-inch 3K screen in the back. At the front, the car comes with a 17.3-inch central display with Google Maps built in (rare for a Chinese brand), an 8.8-inch instrument panel, and an augmented-reality head-up display. The \u2018Hey Xpeng\u2019 voice-activated assistant supports speech recognition in six zones.<\/p>\n

One of the new features the car brings for Xpeng is the AI-operated Active Adaptive Seating technology in the front seats. It uses sensors to adapt the seat to occupants’ postures. The seats are covered in Napa leather, and the front and second-row seats come with heating, cooling, and massage functions.<\/p>\n

Two versions, <\/b>range <\/b>of u<\/b>p to 591 km<\/b><\/h4>\n

From a technical standpoint, the Xpeng G9L comes in two versions: Long Range and Performance. Both feature a full aluminum suspension with double wishbones at the front and an H-arm multilink at the back. Double-chamber air suspension, adaptive dampers, and active rear-wheel steering have to balance comfort and agility.<\/p>\n

The difference between the two versions is the driveline. The Long Range model is rear-wheel driven, with a single motor delivering 270 kW and 465 Nm of torque. The Performance model offers four-wheel drive thanks to two electric motors, delivering a combined power output of 430 kW and a torque of 695 Nm.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

All versions come with an 110 kWh NCM battery, giving the Long Range version a range of 591 km and the Performance version a range of up to 553 km. The G9L is built on an 800V Silicon Carbide platform, with DC fast-charging capacity of up to 540 kW.<\/p>\n

This means it can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in under 12 minutes. The AC charging power is rated at 22 kW, and the G9L features 6 kW V2L functionality. In China, the G9L is also available as an EV with a petrol range extender, but that version is not planned for Europe.<\/p>\n

Built in Europe, L4 autonomous-ready<\/b><\/h4>\n

The Xpeng G9L underscores the brand’s European approach. It rolls off the production line at Magna, in the Austrian city of Graz, being the brand\u2019s fourth model for Europe built in Europe<\/a>, after the G6, G9 and P7+. Meanwhile, Xpeng partnered with VW<\/a> in China to supply technology to the European brand, bolstering its industrial credibility.<\/p>\n

The importance of the European market for Xpeng is also apparent in its technological approach. The new model introduces Xpeng\u2019s \u2018Next Generation Pilot\u2019 (NGP), based on the brand\u2019s ‘Vision-Language-Action’ (VLA 2.0) AI model. This means the G9L is ready to go from Level 2 autonomous driving to Level 4, developed for European driving conditions.<\/p>\n
