Stellantis and Leapmotor are deepening their collaboration far beyond distribution. This shift is particularly evident at the Paris Motor Show.

Leapmotor is presenting the B03, another electric vehicle, in Europe for the first time and simultaneously announcing that production of the B10 in Spain has officially begun. We’ll come back to this in an article later this week.

Alfa Romeo: Cuorerosso Concept

Alfa Romeo is back in the spotlight at the Paris Motor Show with a strong visual impact that captures the spirit of Italian sportiness. Center stage, the new Cuorerosso concept car makes its world premiere, embodying Alfa Romeo’s vision of the future.

Alongside it are the fascinating 33 Stradale, embellished with a celebratory livery paying homage to the French capital, and the legendary 1966 ‘Duetto’ Spider from the prestigious Alfa Romeo Museum collection in Arese: an icon of Italian lifestyle celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso is a concept car, making its worldwide debut as an ideal start to a new chapter in the Biscione brand’s history. “Neither an anticipation of a production model nor a mere exercise in style, but a manifesto of the brand’s vision of the future, called upon to set out how Alfa Romeo intends to face a new era of mobility,” says the press release.

“The car reinterprets the factors that have always contributed to defining its identity: beauty, sportiness, the Italian spirit, and, above all, emotion and driving pleasure. A direction destined to translate into a multi-energy line-up for the future, with flexible architectures, a range of powertrain solutions and models up to 4.7 meters long, without ever sacrificing that visceral relationship between car and driver that transforms motion into emotion,” Alfa Romeo proudly explains.

Cuorerosso anticipates the multi-energy approach with which Alfa Romeo is looking ahead to the future, imagining Full-Electric, Plug-in Hybrid, Mild Hybrid, and Full-Hybrid solutions; the top performance version takes flight via a 2.9 V6 Full Hybrid with Q4 all-wheel drive, “interpreting electrification as a tool to amplify, not dilute, the Alfa Romeo character.”

The interior of this ‘red heart’ is, of course, also red and features hand-finished Poltrona Frau nubuck, regenerated leather, and new-generation composite materials.

The collaboration with Luna Rossa also inspires a lightweight monofilament dashboard fabric, based on technical clothing from high-performance sailing, while experimentation extends to recycled carbon fibers combined with red resins.

DS: DS F3VER

DS Automobiles presents DS F3VER, an exploratory concept car opening a new chapter in its design story. Conceived as a manifesto for the brand’s future direction, it combines a compact silhouette reminiscent of the original DS3 Citroën launched at the time with an assertive presence.

Designed and developed entirely in-house, DS F3VER showcases the breadth of expertise within DS Automobiles and its teams’ ability to rapidly turn a shared vision of design and innovation into reality.

Presented to international visitors at the Paris Motor Show, DS F3VER is intended to spark an immediate reaction and inform DS Automobiles’ thinking on its future creations. Its name expresses this ambition: to create an instant emotion, a positive ‘fever’ that fuels the concept’s desirability.

According to the manufacturer, DS F3VER is a full-scale design laboratory; the concept explores three complementary territories: “powerful desirability, extensive ultra-customization, and freedom of use suited to every moment in life.”

Xavier Chardon, apart from Citroën, is also CEO of DS Automobiles: “With DS F3VER, we set out to push three fundamental pillars of DS Automobiles even further: desirability, personalization and freedom. The result is a concept that refuses to be confined by conventional categories. It explores new possibilities, challenges our own codes, and illustrates where we want to take DS: toward a brand vision that is more distinctive, more desirable, and more daring.”

DS gives no clues about the technical aspects of the concept, but we can assume that the brand, as it is now considered a ‘sub-brand’ within the Stellantis hierarchy, just like Citroën, will adapt to the technical solutions that are put forward by the leading European brands within Stellantis, Fiat and Peugeot.

Lancia: Gamma is back

Lancia is using the 2026 Paris Motor Show to unveil its new compact SUV, the Gamma. It will come in three electric variants, including an HF Integrale, in addition to a gasoline version.

In 2024, Lancia heightened anticipation by announcing a new Gamma. Fifty years after the original 1976 model debuted, and to mark the brand’s 120th anniversary, the new Lancia Gamma will debut at the Paris Motor Show in 2026. The Italian brand’s flagship is set to bridge its heritage with current Stellantis technology.

However, those hoping to test-drive it at their local Lancia dealer in Germany will be disappointed for the foreseeable future. Lancia has not announced any plans to offer the Gamma in Germany, as the brand’s focus markets remain Italy, France, Spain, and the Benelux countries.

At 4.67 meters long, 1.89 meters wide, and 1.63 meters high, the Gamma fits into the compact crossover segment. Its sloping rear, split roof spoiler, and optimized airflow design give it an impressive drag coefficient of 0.25. Behind the large tailgate, it offers 560 liters of trunk capacity.

The Lancia Gamma is based on the STLA Medium Multi-Energy platform, which supports both electric and internal combustion drivetrains. The entry-level variant features a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid system.

Beyond that, three electric variants are available: the first offers front-wheel drive with 169 kW and 343 Nm of torque. This version uses a smaller 73.7-kWh NMC battery (net), providing a WLTP range of just over 540 kilometers. The Gamma is electronically limited to 190 kph.

With the larger 97.2-kWh battery in the Long-Range version, the crossover achieves around 740 kilometers of range. The third version is the sporty HF Integrale. It revives the iconic nameplate as a new electric sports model after a 30-year hiatus, featuring a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system with a continuous output of 257 kW.

With the battery above 90% charged, peak power rises to 276 kW and torque to 509 Nm, enabling a 0-100 kph sprint in just 5.1 seconds. Despite this performance, the all-wheel-drive model’s 97.2-kWh battery delivers up to 676 kilometers of WLTP range.

The HF Integrale comes standard with adaptive suspension. Using direct current, the battery can charge from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes, adding about 100 kilometers of range in just six minutes.

Additional features include automatic charging-stop planning with battery pre-conditioning, one-pedal driving, and a Vehicle-to-Load function to power external devices.

Opel: STX Concept

At the Paris Motor Show, Opel presents the STX Concept, a vision for future estate cars. In addition, Opel will unveil premieres that will reveal the ’emotional automotive excellence made in Germany’.

For example, the new Opel GSE 27FE Formula E racing car will make its world premiere in the French capital, and the new Corsa GSE hot hatch, now on sale, will make its exhibition debut.

STX stands for ‘Sports Tourer eXperimental’. The name clearly signals the German manufacturer’s vision for future estates. The abbreviation ‘ST’ is closely associated with the Sports Tourer models with the Blitz, such as the latest generation Astra Sports Tourer. But the STX Concept also symbolizes the next stage of Opel’s design philosophy: “even bolder, even purer, even more emotional and even more efficient.”

“Our Opel STX Concept reinterprets the estate. With its bold design, the latest concept car from Rüsselsheim reaffirms what we at Opel understand by German engineering paired with visionary design,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

“The STX Concept gives a taste of how exciting and emotional the estate of tomorrow can be, with maximum functionality and efficiency. The study shows characteristic features that will be found in future Opel models and underlines Opel’s role as an estate pioneer in Europe,” he added.

The German manufacturer, then part of GM and now a brand within Stellantis, was largely responsible for the breakthrough of this vehicle type in Europe as early as the 1950s.

In 1953, Opel introduced the Olympia Rekord Caravan. The Kadett Caravan and many other models up to the latest Astra Sports Tourer followed. “All these models always impressed with style-defining design and innovative technologies,” Opel claims.

The STX Concept presents aerodynamic solutions that reduce consumption while increasing range, directional stability, and driving pleasure. It features an active aerodynamic system that continuously adapts to driving conditions, using moving rear elements to optimize airflow, reduce drag, and improve stability.

For example, at the right speed, blue-coloured diffusers protrude from under the rear; behind the wheels, vertical bumper elements extend sideways to the rear to support the streamlined stance.

The STX Concept combines an innovative electric architecture with all-wheel drive and a top speed of over 200 kph. In this way, it wants to prove that efficiency, performance, and emotional driving pleasure can go hand in hand in the electric age.

With the largest stand, featuring no fewer than 60 models, Stellantis is making a strong statement at the Paris Motor Show.
