Cette technologie a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9e \u00e0 bord de la station spatiale internationale.<\/p>\n<p>Suzuki est un retardataire dans le domaine des v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques, mais il intensifie ses efforts. Il reprend l'activit\u00e9 \"batteries \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat solide\" de Kanadevia Corporation, un conglom\u00e9rat industriel japonais qui n'a chang\u00e9 de nom par rapport \u00e0 Hitachi Zosen qu'en octobre dernier.<\/p>\n<p>Le grand avantage pour Suzuki est qu'il absorbe d'un seul coup une base technologique compl\u00e8te, une base que la plupart de ses rivaux assemblent discr\u00e8tement depuis des ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<h4>Vingt ans<\/h4>\n<p>Le programme de batteries \u00e0 l'\u00e9tat solide de Kanadevia remonte \u00e0 20 ans, en 2006, et est l'un des plus anciens du secteur. Son produit, commercialis\u00e9 sous le nom d'AS-LiB, fonctionne dans une plage de temp\u00e9ratures allant de -40 \u00e0 +120 degr\u00e9s Celsius et a pass\u00e9 des tests de p\u00e9n\u00e9tration d'ongles sans prendre feu (la norme de l'industrie en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 des batteries).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mais c'est il y a quatre ans que cette technologie a obtenu sa certification la plus inhabituelle : une unit\u00e9 a \u00e9t\u00e9 install\u00e9e \u00e0 l'ext\u00e9rieur du module Kibo de la station spatiale internationale, certifi\u00e9e pour la mission par l'Agence japonaise d'exploration a\u00e9rospatiale.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 ce joyau de la couronne, M. Kanadevia a conclu qu'il n'avait pas l'envergure industrielle n\u00e9cessaire pour amener la technologie jusqu'\u00e0 la production en s\u00e9rie de v\u00e9hicules automobiles.<\/p>\n<p>La concurrence dans le domaine du d\u00e9veloppement des semi-conducteurs s'est fortement intensifi\u00e9e, les grands acteurs verrouillant les cha\u00eenes d'approvisionnement et les partenariats de recherche. La vente de la division \u00e0 Suzuki \u00e9tait, de l'aveu m\u00eame de l'entreprise, la voie logique pour faire avancer les choses.<\/p>\n<h4>En marge de la comp\u00e9tition<\/h4>\n<p>Pour Suzuki, la logique va dans l'autre sens. Le constructeur automobile a \u00e9t\u00e9 manifestement absent de la vague de partenariats dans le domaine des semi-conducteurs qui orientent les strat\u00e9gies de batteries dans l'industrie automobile depuis quelques ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p>Toyota s'est associ\u00e9 \u00e0 Idemitsu, tandis que Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis et Volkswagen ont mis\u00e9 sur les jeunes pousses Factorial et QuantumScape, respectivement, et que Hyundai et Volvo se sont associ\u00e9s \u00e0 la jeune pousse isra\u00e9lienne Powerdot. Suzuki, qui se concentre sur les v\u00e9hicules compacts et les deux-roues, a observ\u00e9 cette consolidation depuis les coulisses jusqu'\u00e0 aujourd'hui.<\/p>\n<p>Le processus de fabrication \u00e0 sec exclusif de Kanadevia constitue un atout particulier. Ces avantages sont particuli\u00e8rement importants pour les cellules de plus petite taille adapt\u00e9es aux voitures et aux motos kei, segments dans lesquels Suzuki d\u00e9tient une forte position sur le march\u00e9 japonais.<\/p>\n<h4>Densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique plus faible<\/h4>\n<p>Par rapport \u00e0 des concurrents comme QuantumScape et Factorial, Kanadavia a d\u00e9j\u00e0 commercialis\u00e9 et test\u00e9 ses cellules dans certains cr\u00e9neaux, ce qui constitue un avantage.
