{"id":184211,"date":"2026-04-09T12:40:18","date_gmt":"2026-04-09T10:40:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/?p=184211"},"modified":"2026-04-09T11:50:03","modified_gmt":"2026-04-09T09:50:03","slug":"jan-de-nul-launches-worlds-largest-cable-laying-vessels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/fr\/2026\/04\/09\/jan-de-nul-launches-worlds-largest-cable-laying-vessels\/","title":{"rendered":"Jan De Nul lance les plus grands navires c\u00e2bliers du monde"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Jan De Nul, sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e dans les solutions \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques offshore, a lanc\u00e9 un nouveau navire tr\u00e8s performant : le William Thomson, l'un des deux navires identiques de pose de c\u00e2bles sous-marins actuellement en cours de construction.<\/p>\n<p>Les deux navires ont une capacit\u00e9 de chargement de 28 000 tonnes et une longueur de 215 m\u00e8tres. \u201cCela en fait les plus grands, les plus efficaces et les plus performants des navires de pose de c\u00e2bles de ce type\u201d, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Wouter Vermeersch, directeur de Subsea Cables Offshore Energy chez Jan De Nul.<\/p>\n<h4>R\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts<\/h4>\n<p>Les deux nouveaux navires ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialement construits pour installer des c\u00e2bles dans des eaux peu profondes et tr\u00e8s profondes, jusqu'\u00e0 4 000 m\u00e8tres. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur grande capacit\u00e9 de chargement, ils peuvent embarquer des c\u00e2bles plus longs en une seule pi\u00e8ce et couvrir de plus longues distances en r\u00e9duisant au maximum le nombre de connexions de c\u00e2bles sous-marins.<\/p>\n<p>Par rapport \u00e0 des navires similaires sur le march\u00e9, ils n\u00e9cessitent moins d'allers-retours pour charger les c\u00e2bles, ce qui permet de r\u00e9duire les co\u00fbts, de minimiser l'empreinte environnementale et d'am\u00e9liorer la qualit\u00e9 des c\u00e2bles.<\/p>\n<h4>Premi\u00e8re mission<\/h4>\n<p>Le navire jumeau Fleeming Jenkin a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en octobre 2025 et la livraison est pr\u00e9vue pour le dernier trimestre 2026. Le William Thomson suivra peu apr\u00e8s et sera op\u00e9rationnel au premier semestre 2027.<\/p>\n<p>Une fois op\u00e9rationnels, les deux navires peuvent imm\u00e9diatement commencer \u00e0 travailler sur leurs premi\u00e8res missions. Leur premier projet est le programme 2GW de TenneT, l'op\u00e9rateur du r\u00e9seau \u00e9lectrique des Pays-Bas et d'une grande partie de l'Allemagne. Ces navires seront probablement r\u00e9serv\u00e9s des ann\u00e9es \u00e0 l'avance.<\/p>\n<h4>Solutions \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques en mer<\/h4>\n<p>Il s'agit d'une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de connexions au r\u00e9seau pour les parcs \u00e9oliens en mer, chacune pouvant transporter jusqu'\u00e0 deux gigawatts. Cela repr\u00e9sente plus du double de la capacit\u00e9 des connexions actuelles. Dans le cadre de ce projet, les deux navires installeront plus de 2 800 kilom\u00e8tres de c\u00e2bles \u00e0 courant continu de 525 kV pour quatre connexions de r\u00e9seau diff\u00e9rentes.<\/p>\n<p>En 2028, Jan De Nul d\u00e9ploiera \u00e9galement l'un de ces nouveaux navires pour installer trois c\u00e2bles de 220 kV AC reliant l'\u00eele Princess Elisabeth \u00e0 la terre ferme. Cette \u00eele \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, que Jan De Nul construit dans le cadre d'une coentreprise pour l'op\u00e9rateur de r\u00e9seau Elia, regroupera les c\u00e2bles de la deuxi\u00e8me zone \u00e9olienne offshore de Belgique (zone Princesse Elisabeth) et renforcera l'interconnexion entre les pays de la mer du Nord.<\/p>\n<h4>Important d'un point de vue strat\u00e9gique<\/h4>\n<p>Jan De Nul investit massivement dans l'extension de la capacit\u00e9 de ses c\u00e2bles sous-marins : aux deux navires poseurs de c\u00e2bles s'ajouteront trois autres navires charg\u00e9s de les prot\u00e9ger.<\/p>\n<p>Historiquement, Jan De Nul \u00e9tait connu pour ses activit\u00e9s de dragage et de remise en \u00e9tat des terres, mais au cours des 15 derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, l'entreprise a mis en place une division s\u00e9rieuse dans le domaine de l'\u00e9nergie offshore. Ces deux navires c\u00e2bliers augmentent consid\u00e9rablement la capacit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Les parcs \u00e9oliens se construisent rapidement, mais les relier \u00e0 la terre devient le facteur limitant. C'est pourquoi les nouveaux navires sont strat\u00e9giquement si importants.
