Vendredi dernier, le groupe de construction automobile Stellantis a annonc\u00e9 une nouvelle r\u00e9duction de son \u00e9quipe d'ing\u00e9nieurs au centre de recherche et de d\u00e9veloppement d'Opel \u00e0 R\u00fcsselsheim. Cela signifie qu'il ne reste plus que 1 000 emplois dans le domaine de la recherche et du d\u00e9veloppement \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du si\u00e8ge social d'Opel en Allemagne.<\/p>\n

Dans d'autres pays, cependant, Stellantis pr\u00e9voit d'embaucher de nouveaux talents en ing\u00e9nierie, dont quelque 2 000 aux \u00c9tats-Unis et 700 en France. Stellantis explique cette d\u00e9marche par la volont\u00e9 d'aligner les effectifs de ses centres de R&D sur les activit\u00e9s et l'importance de ces centres au sein du groupe.<\/p>\n

R\u00fcsselsheim<\/h4>\n

La restructuration du site allemand de R&D, d\u00e9di\u00e9 au d\u00e9veloppement des voitures Opel et Vauxhall et \u00e0 d'autres activit\u00e9s transversales au sein du groupe, vise \u00e0 renforcer la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 de la partie allemande du groupe\u2018, explique Stellantis dans un communiqu\u00e9 de presse.<\/p>\n

Lorsqu'Opel a \u00e9t\u00e9 rachet\u00e9 par PSA (\u00e0 l'\u00e9poque) en 2017, quelque 7 000 personnes travaillaient encore dans les installations de R&D d'Opel \u00e0 R\u00fcsselsheim. Beaucoup sont partis depuis, et il n'y a pas si longtemps, Stellantis a \u00e9galement ferm\u00e9 temporairement les importantes installations d'essai de Dudenhofen<\/a>, \u00e0 l'est de Francfort.<\/p>\n

Les terrains d'essai de Dudenhofen sont \u00e9galement menac\u00e9s car la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d'ing\u00e9nierie fran\u00e7aise Segula Technologies, qui exploite les sites, met fin \u00e0 ses activit\u00e9s \u00e0 la suite d'une insolvabilit\u00e9 \/Segula Technologies<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Cette \u00e9volution a alarm\u00e9 les syndicats et les gouvernements r\u00e9gionaux de Hesse, qui voient dans cette r\u00e9duction des effectifs une nouvelle \u00e9rosion de la base d'ing\u00e9nierie allemande d'Opel. Autrefois symbole d'excellence technique, le terrain d'essai de Dudenhofen a accueilli des tests non seulement pour Opel mais aussi pour d'autres constructeurs automobiles depuis son ouverture en 1966.<\/p>\n

Le \u2018Tech Center\u2019 de R\u00fcsselsheim restera n\u00e9anmoins l'un des points d'ancrage de la R&D de Stellantis. Outre la poursuite du d\u00e9veloppement des voitures Opel et Vauxhall au sein du groupe, le centre sera \u00e9galement responsable du d\u00e9veloppement de l'\u00e9clairage, des applications de l'IA dans la production, du d\u00e9veloppement des syst\u00e8mes ADAS et du d\u00e9veloppement des batteries.<\/p>\n

Sochaux<\/h4>\n

Stellantis a \u00e9galement annonc\u00e9 un investissement suppl\u00e9mentaire de 120 millions d'euros dans son site historique de Sochaux (est de la France), berceau de la marque Peugeot. L'investissement le plus important sera un nouvel atelier de peinture, presque enti\u00e8rement automatis\u00e9 et d\u00e9carbonis\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le nouvel atelier de peinture sera enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectrifi\u00e9, sans alimentation au gaz, et ne consommera que la moiti\u00e9 de l'eau qu'il utilise actuellement. Il n'y aura qu'un seul moment de chauffe dans tout le processus de peinture, pr\u00e9cise Julien Risset, superviseur de l'atelier de peinture, qui souligne que \u201cla peinture d'une voiture repr\u00e9sente quelque 80% d'\u00e9missions de CO2 dans une usine automobile\u201d.<\/p>\n

L'usine de Sochaux produit environ 1 050 voitures par jour et constitue l'un des plus grands sites de production automobile de Stellantis. Stellantis poss\u00e8de 42 usines automobiles dans le monde, dont cinq en France.
