Conduire une voiture \u00e9lectrique sur de longues distances a longtemps \u00e9t\u00e9 un d\u00e9fi. Cependant, les VE modernes ont largement \u00e9limin\u00e9 l'angoisse de l'autonomie pour de nombreuses personnes, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des batteries plus grandes, des groupes motopropulseurs plus efficaces, une recharge plus rapide et des chiffres d'autonomie inimaginables il y a une dizaine d'ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n

Nous arrivons maintenant \u00e0 un point o\u00f9 conduire un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique de derni\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ration n'implique pas trop de compromis. L'un de ces VE est le nouveau BMW iX3, un SUV qui promet plus de 600 kilom\u00e8tres r\u00e9els avec une charge compl\u00e8te, des arr\u00eats de charge rapides, de bonnes performances et beaucoup de confort.<\/p>\n

L'iX3 n'impressionne pas seulement sur le papier, comme le montre le YouTubeur et passionn\u00e9 d'EV Bjorn Nyland<\/a> r\u00e9cemment d\u00e9couvert. Nyland a emmen\u00e9 l'iX3 xDrive50, la seule version actuellement disponible, sur une route de 1 000 km pour voir comment elle se d\u00e9brouillerait face \u00e0 la concurrence.<\/p>\n

Test sur autoroute de 1 000 km<\/h4>\n

En bref, Nyland voulait savoir combien de temps il fallait pour parcourir 1 000 kilom\u00e8tres sur l'autoroute dans des conditions de circulation r\u00e9elles, y compris les arr\u00eats de charge. L'efficacit\u00e9, la vitesse de chargement et la capacit\u00e9 de la batterie ont \u00e9t\u00e9 test\u00e9es en une seule fois. Apparemment, l'iX3 n'a pas d\u00e9\u00e7u.<\/p>\n

Avec une batterie pleine, Nyland est parti sur l'autoroute avec le r\u00e9gulateur de vitesse r\u00e9gl\u00e9 \u00e0 120 km\/h et une temp\u00e9rature ambiante d'environ 0\u00b0C. Ce n'est pas l'id\u00e9al quand on veut tirer le maximum d'autonomie de la (tr\u00e8s grosse) batterie de 108 kWh. Le fait que la voiture soit chauss\u00e9e de jantes de 21 pouces, au lieu des 20 pouces plus efficaces, n'a pas aid\u00e9 non plus.<\/p>\n

8 heures et 55 minutes<\/h4>\n

Apr\u00e8s s'\u00eatre arr\u00eat\u00e9e seulement deux fois pendant le trajet, la BMW iX3 a relev\u00e9 le d\u00e9fi en 8 heures et 55 minutes. C'est le m\u00eame temps que la Tesla Model S Long Range et la Zeekr 7X Performance. Cependant, l'iX3 a \u00e9t\u00e9 plus efficace que ces deux voitures, bien qu'elle ait roul\u00e9 par temps plus froid. Normalement, l'iX3 obtient des r\u00e9sultats encore meilleurs par temps plus cl\u00e9ment.<\/p>\n

L'iX3 a tout pour plaire, selon M. Nyland : \u201cElle est efficace, avec une moyenne de 26,7 kWh\/100 km, elle se recharge tr\u00e8s rapidement, jusqu'\u00e0 400 kW, et ne l\u00e9sine ni sur les performances ni sur le confort.\u201d<\/p>\n

Notre point de vue<\/h4>\n

Nous venons d'avoir l'occasion de conduire une iX3 pendant une semaine. Honn\u00eatement, nous ne voyons pas comment on peut avoir une consommation moyenne de pr\u00e8s de 27 kWh\/100 km et la qualifier d'efficace. Bien s\u00fbr, l'iX3 est grand et lourd, et le fait d'\u00eatre un SUV n'aide pas l'a\u00e9rodynamisme, mais un coefficient de tra\u00een\u00e9e de 0,26 est tr\u00e8s bon pour un v\u00e9hicule utilitaire sportif.<\/p>\n

Notre voiture d'essai avait des roues encore plus grandes (22 pouces), mais nous avons pu la conduire par beau temps et dans toutes sortes de conditions de circulation. Nous avons obtenu une moyenne d'un peu plus de 18 kWh\/100 km et n'avons pas d\u00e9pass\u00e9 les 20 kW\/100 km sur l'autoroute aux m\u00eames vitesses que lors de l'essai de Nyland.<\/p>\n

En r\u00e9sum\u00e9, nous avons \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9duits par le confort, le silence de roulement, les performances et l'efficacit\u00e9 d'une voiture de cette taille. Nous avons particuli\u00e8rement appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 l'\u00e9cran panoramique situ\u00e9 juste sous le pare-brise et l'absence de tr\u00e8s grands \u00e9crans sur le tableau de bord. Les si\u00e8ges sont \u00e9galement tr\u00e8s confortables. La suspension est peut-\u00eatre un peu dure (22 pouces ?) sur nos routes belges pas si bien entretenues, et l'amortissement adaptatif pourrait encore am\u00e9liorer les choses.<\/p>\n

L'approche simple et directe du tableau de bord de BMW est un v\u00e9ritable soulagement par rapport \u00e0 ce que proposent certains concurrents \/BMW<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

La voiture avait une tenue de route impressionnante et \u00e9tait \u00e9galement assez facile \u00e0 man\u0153uvrer pour sa taille, gr\u00e2ce aux quatre roues directrices (en option) dont notre voiture d'essai \u00e9tait \u00e9quip\u00e9e. Sur le plan du design, la voiture ressemble toujours \u00e0 l'iX dont nous n'\u00e9tions pas tr\u00e8s fans, mais dans l'iX3, on s'y habitue, et c'est seulement la vue lat\u00e9rale qui pourrait avoir un peu plus de personnalit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

En conclusion, ce que Nyland a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 n'est pas particuli\u00e8rement impressionnant. Je pense que l'on pourrait faire mieux, \u00e0 notre moyenne autorouti\u00e8re un arr\u00eat suffit, par exemple, mais l\u00e0 n'est pas la question. Ce qui compte, c'est que l'iX3 est l'un des meilleurs SUV sur le march\u00e9 \u00e0 l'heure actuelle, mais nous verrons bient\u00f4t ce que les Mercedes GLC et Volvo EX60 enti\u00e8rement \u00e9lectriques peuvent faire.<\/p>\n

En ce qui concerne BMW, nous attendons avec impatience l'autre mod\u00e8le \u00e0 venir sur la plateforme et la technologie \u2018Neue Klasse\u2019, l'i3. Une i3 Touring serait notre choix dans cette cat\u00e9gorie de prix, offrant la m\u00eame habitabilit\u00e9 que ce SUV et une allure beaucoup plus attrayante et efficace sur le plan a\u00e9rodynamique.
