\u00c0 l'initiative de l'association DVV Verzekeringen, l'institut Vias a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 \u201cMission : Safe to School\u201d, un jeu vid\u00e9o \u00e9ducatif dans lequel les enfants s'exercent virtuellement \u00e0 emprunter le chemin de l'\u00e9cole avant de l'emprunter dans la r\u00e9alit\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Le jeu gratuit, qui s'adresse principalement aux \u00e9l\u00e8ves des classes primaires de la quatri\u00e8me \u00e0 la sixi\u00e8me ann\u00e9e, sera disponible dans toutes les \u00e9coles de Belgique \u00e0 partir de la mi-ao\u00fbt, afin que les enfants puissent s'entra\u00eener \u00e0 emprunter le chemin de l'\u00e9cole et \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre les dangers potentiels avant le d\u00e9but de la nouvelle ann\u00e9e scolaire.<\/p>\n

De nombreux \u00e9coliers victimes d'un accident de la route<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cLes enfants de l'\u00e9cole primaire sont parfois vuln\u00e9rables dans la circulation\u201d, d\u00e9clare Stef Willems de l'Institut Vias. \u201cL'agitation du trafic motoris\u00e9 et une infrastructure qui n'est pas toujours logique ou indulgente font qu'il est particuli\u00e8rement difficile pour des enfants encore en d\u00e9veloppement d'\u00e9valuer correctement les situations de circulation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Les chiffres confirment l'affirmation de Willems. En 2024, plus de 300 enfants en Flandre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9s dans des accidents de la route sur le chemin de l'\u00e9cole. Au cours des dix derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, pas moins de 4 465 jeunes pi\u00e9tons et cyclistes de l'\u00e9cole primaire ont \u00e9t\u00e9 bless\u00e9s dans la circulation.<\/p>\n

Environnement 3D<\/strong><\/h4>\n

En d\u00e9veloppant un jeu, les cr\u00e9ateurs esp\u00e8rent faire baisser ces chiffres. \u201cMission : Safe to School\u201d a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u sur Roblox, la plateforme sur laquelle des millions d'enfants jouent d\u00e9j\u00e0 aujourd'hui. \u201cCe n'est pas une co\u00efncidence, car de cette fa\u00e7on, l'\u00e9ducation \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 routi\u00e8re n'est pas seulement une activit\u00e9 obligatoire, mais un jeu auquel ils choisissent de jouer eux-m\u00eames\u201d, explique M. Willems.<\/p>\n

En utilisant des donn\u00e9es cartographiques libres, le trajet r\u00e9el de chaque \u00e9l\u00e8ve pour se rendre \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole est converti en un environnement 3D. La s\u00e9curit\u00e9 en ligne des enfants a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 prise en compte. Aucune information personnelle n'est requise pour jouer au jeu, m\u00eame s'il faut bien s\u00fbr entrer l'adresse de son domicile pour simuler le trajet vers l'\u00e9cole, et les joueurs sont confin\u00e9s dans un environnement ferm\u00e9, sans possibilit\u00e9 d'interagir avec les autres.<\/p>\n

Pour \u00eatre clair : les \u00e9coles et les familles peuvent s'inscrire et t\u00e9l\u00e9charger le paquet gratuitement. Les \u00e9coles qui s'inscrivent peuvent \u00e9galement demander \u00e0 leurs \u00e9l\u00e8ves de tester leurs connaissances en participant au concours \u201cLa classe la plus s\u00fbre de la province\u201d. L'\u00e9cole peut gagner 2 500 euros et des casques personnalis\u00e9s pour les \u00e9l\u00e8ves de la classe gagnante.<\/p>\n

Les adultes continuent de donner l'exemple<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u201cIl est utile que les enfants apprennent \u00e0 reconna\u00eetre les dangers potentiels en faisant l'exp\u00e9rience directe des situations et en apprenant \u00e0 prendre des d\u00e9cisions\u201d, d\u00e9clare Willems. \u201cNous devons encourager et inciter les enfants \u00e0 se rendre \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole \u00e0 pied ou \u00e0 v\u00e9lo. Mais Willems souligne \u00e9galement que pour apprendre aux enfants \u00e0 se rendre \u00e0 l'\u00e9cole en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9, il est \u00e9galement important que les conducteurs de v\u00e9hicules motoris\u00e9s respectent toujours les limitations de vitesse et ne conduisent pas en \u00e9tant distraits ou sous l'influence de l'alcool.<\/p>\n
