{"id":187655,"date":"2026-06-12T12:30:52","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T10:30:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/?p=187655"},"modified":"2026-06-12T10:35:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T08:35:59","slug":"paris-antwerp-by-barge-europes-new-freight-route-takes-shape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/fr\/2026\/06\/12\/paris-antwerp-by-barge-europes-new-freight-route-takes-shape\/","title":{"rendered":"Paris-Anvers par p\u00e9niche : la nouvelle voie de transport de marchandises en Europe prend forme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Afin de r\u00e9duire les embouteillages routiers, l'Europe pr\u00e9voit de mettre en place un nouveau corridor de fret fluvial reliant Le Havre, Paris et les ports d'Anvers et de Rotterdam.<\/p>\n<p>La Flandre et la Wallonie consacrent toutes deux des moyens consid\u00e9rables \u00e0 ce projet europ\u00e9en de grande envergure dans le domaine de la navigation int\u00e9rieure, d\u00e9sormais baptis\u00e9 \u00ab Seine-Escaut \u00bb, qui comprend un r\u00e9seau de 1 100 kilom\u00e8tres de voies navigables.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 ce jour, comme le rapporte le journal \u00e9conomique L\u2019Echo, la Wallonie a d\u00e9j\u00e0 investi pr\u00e8s d\u2019un milliard d\u2019euros dans ce projet, qui constitue le plus grand projet d\u2019infrastructure fluviale d\u2019Europe.<\/p>\n<p>La r\u00e9gion est donc consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme un maillon strat\u00e9gique entre la vall\u00e9e de la Seine en France et les ports du Benelux sur la mer du Nord, dont les terminaux sont Gand, Zeebruges, Anvers et Rotterdam.<\/p>\n<h4>Le canal Seine-Nord Europe<\/h4>\n<p>L'\u00e9l\u00e9ment central du projet Seine-Escaut, qui assure \u00e9galement une liaison avec les bassins hydrographiques du Rhin et de la Meuse, est un tout nouveau canal qui doit \u00eatre creus\u00e9 : le canal Seine-Nord Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Il est pr\u00e9vu de relier l'Oise au canal Dunkerque-Escaut. Il devra pouvoir accueillir des navires mesurant jusqu'\u00e0 185 m\u00e8tres de long et 11,40 m\u00e8tres de large, d'une capacit\u00e9 de chargement de 4 400 tonnes, soit l'\u00e9quivalent de 22 camions.<\/p>\n<p>Le canal, d'une longueur de 107 kilom\u00e8tres et d'une largeur de 54 m\u00e8tres, assurera la liaison entre le r\u00e9seau fran\u00e7ais et les 20 000 km de voies navigables europ\u00e9ennes. Son ouverture est pr\u00e9vue pour 2032-2033.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_187668\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-187668\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-187668 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Screenshot-2026-06-11-at-10.46.16.png?resize=640%2C459&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"459\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-187668\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Le canal Seine-Nord Europe \/ illustration de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Canal Seine-Nord Europe<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4>R\u00e9novation d'infrastructures historiques ou d\u00e9labr\u00e9es<\/h4>\n<p>L'Europe finance la moiti\u00e9 du co\u00fbt initialement pr\u00e9vu du projet, qui s'\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 7 milliards d'euros, mais la Wallonie a \u00e9galement d\u00e9j\u00e0 investi pr\u00e8s d'un milliard d'euros.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s tout, certaines infrastructures wallonnes datent encore des ann\u00e9es 1950, et le gouvernement wallon profite de ce projet pour moderniser le r\u00e9seau fluvial reliant le Hainaut, Charleroi, Namur et Li\u00e8ge.<\/p>\n<p>Par exemple, de nouvelles \u00e9cluses sont pr\u00e9vues dans la r\u00e9gion du Hainaut, \u00e0 Obourg, Viesville, Gosselies et Marchienne-au-Pont, le long de l'axe reliant Charleroi \u00e0 Bruxelles, en plus de celles qui existent d\u00e9j\u00e0 et qui font l'objet d'une r\u00e9novation parall\u00e8le.<\/p>\n<p>Le Pont des Trous \u00e0 Tournai, une \u00e9cluse fortifi\u00e9e sur l'Escaut et monument class\u00e9, a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9am\u00e9nag\u00e9, car il n'\u00e9tait plus adapt\u00e9 \u00e0 la navigation fluviale moderne, alors m\u00eame que le canal de Cond\u00e9-Pommeroeul venait d'\u00eatre rouvert.<\/p>\n<p>Ce canal transfrontalier de 11 kilom\u00e8tres de long, qui relie le canal de Nimy-Blaton-P\u00e9ronnes, du c\u00f4t\u00e9 belge, \u00e0 l\u2019Escaut \u00e0 Cond\u00e9-sur-l\u2019Escau, en France, \u00e9tait ferm\u00e9 \u00e0 la navigation depuis 1992 en raison d\u2019un ensablement partiel. Depuis 2016, apr\u00e8s des ann\u00e9es de discussions,<\/p>\n<p>Voies navigables de France et le Service public de Wallonie ont r\u00e9alis\u00e9 d'importants travaux de dragage et de rectification du trac\u00e9 : 1 million de m\u00b3 de s\u00e9diments ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retir\u00e9s et 450 000 m\u00b3 de terre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 excav\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>Gr\u00e2ce au canal, qui a rouvert en 2023, les plaisanciers peuvent d\u00e9sormais \u00e9viter un d\u00e9tour de 30 kilom\u00e8tres en empruntant le canal Nimy-Blaton-P\u00e9ronnes et gagner ainsi une demi-journ\u00e9e de trajet.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_187669\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-187669\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-187669 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2023-IMAG-Balades_en_bateau_cB_Dochy.original.png?resize=640%2C480&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2023-IMAG-Balades_en_bateau_cB_Dochy.original-scaled.png?resize=1024%2C768&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2023-IMAG-Balades_en_bateau_cB_Dochy.original-scaled.png?w=1280&amp;ssl=1 1280w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/2023-IMAG-Balades_en_bateau_cB_Dochy.original-scaled.png?w=1920&amp;ssl=1 1920w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-187669\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Le Pont des Trous \u00e0 Tournai \/VisitTournai<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h4>La Flandre \u00e9tait \u00e9galement impliqu\u00e9e<\/h4>\n<p>Aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s du Service public de Wallonie, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 du Canal Seine-Nord Europe et de Voies navigables de France, Vlaamse Waterweg fait \u00e9galement partie des quatre partenaires officiels du projet.<\/p>\n<p>D'importants investissements sont pr\u00e9vus le long de l'axe de la Lys (Seine-Escaut) et du canal Roulers-Lys, et de nouvelles \u00e9cluses seront construites sur l'Escaut sup\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n<p>Parall\u00e8lement, des efforts sont d\u00e9ploy\u00e9s pour renforcer la capacit\u00e9 de navigation, r\u00e9habiliter le fleuve, promouvoir les activit\u00e9s de loisirs sur l'eau et en bordure de celle-ci, et soutenir la revitalisation urbaine.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le cadre du M\u00e9canisme pour l'interconnexion en Europe (MIE) pour la p\u00e9riode 2021-2026, la Commission europ\u00e9enne a allou\u00e9 276 millions d'euros au projet Seine-Escaut.<\/p>\n<p>La Vlaamse Waterweg a re\u00e7u une subvention de 62,78 millions d'euros \u00e0 cette fin. Celle-ci s'ajoute aux subventions europ\u00e9ennes pr\u00e9c\u00e9dentes, d'un montant de 176 millions d'euros (2007-2013) et de 539 millions d'euros (2014-2020).<\/p>\n<h4>Retards et augmentation des co\u00fbts<\/h4>\n<p>En r\u00e9sum\u00e9 : comme c'est souvent le cas pour les grands projets d'infrastructure, ces travaux ont pris du retard et leur co\u00fbt a encore augment\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>L'ouverture du canal Seine-Europe du Nord \u00e9tait initialement pr\u00e9vue pour 2010. Cette date a ensuite \u00e9t\u00e9 repouss\u00e9e \u00e0 2028 et, selon la Cour des comptes europ\u00e9enne, 2032 ou 2033 semble d\u00e9sormais plus probable.<\/p>\n<p>Le co\u00fbt initial du projet, estim\u00e9 \u00e0 7 milliards d'euros, est depuis pass\u00e9 \u00e0 environ 10 milliards d'euros. La Flandre et la Wallonie se sont toutes deux engag\u00e9es \u00e0 contribuer \u00e0 hauteur d'environ 1 milliard d'euros.<\/p>\n<p>En 2024, 18,4 millions de tonnes et 85 503 conteneurs ont transit\u00e9 par le corridor Seine-Escaut, un r\u00e9sultat qui s'est encore am\u00e9lior\u00e9 l'ann\u00e9e derni\u00e8re gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une croissance de 6,361 % en tonnage.<\/p>\n<p>Cela confirme d'embl\u00e9e l'importance strat\u00e9gique de ce corridor en tant qu'art\u00e8re logistique majeure, m\u00eame si le r\u00e9seau \u2013 d\u00e9pourvu de liaison directe avec le bassin parisien \u2013 n'a pas encore \u00e9t\u00e9 enti\u00e8rement modernis\u00e9.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To alleviate road congestion, Europe plans to establish a new waterborne freight corridor between Le Havre, Paris, and the Ports of Antwerp and Rotterdam.
