Shell a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 un petit v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique urbain baptis\u00e9 \u00ab Triple10 Challenge \u00bb, qui pr\u00e9sente des caract\u00e9ristiques int\u00e9ressantes pour une voiture de cette taille. Il ne s\u2019agit pas seulement d\u2019une op\u00e9ration de relations publiques de la part d\u2019un g\u00e9ant p\u00e9trolier visant \u00e0 afficher ses engagements \u00e9cologiques.<\/p>\n<p>Shell produit toujours environ trois millions de barils de p\u00e9trole brut par jour et, bien s\u00fbr, l'entreprise prend ses pr\u00e9cautions alors que l'\u00e9lectromobilit\u00e9 remplace progressivement les moteurs \u00e0 combustion et les produits d\u00e9riv\u00e9s du p\u00e9trole. Bienvenue au Triple10 Challenge, un concept de v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique routier qui fonctionne r\u00e9ellement.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Ce nom r\u00e9sume en quelques mots trois chiffres cl\u00e9s : dix minutes pour passer de 10 \u00e0 80 % de charge sur une borne publique standard de 175 kW \u2013 ce qui est exceptionnel ; dix kilom\u00e8tres parcourus pour chaque kilowattheure consomm\u00e9 ; et une empreinte carbone de dix tonnes sur l'ensemble du cycle de vie du v\u00e9hicule, de sa fabrication \u00e0 sa mise au rebut.<\/p>\n<p>Aucun de ces chiffres n\u2019est th\u00e9orique. Shell, en collaboration avec la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019ing\u00e9nierie britannique RML, a construit un prototype fonctionnel et l\u2019a test\u00e9 sur le circuit d\u2019essai d\u2019Horiba Mira. Il faudra se fier \u00e0 la parole de Shell, mais il semble que la voiture soit \u00e0 la hauteur de ces chiffres. Ceux-ci paraissent plausibles compte tenu de la petite taille de cette berline quatre portes.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Un syst\u00e8me de refroidissement ing\u00e9nieux<\/h4>\n<p>Mais il y a d\u2019autres aspects ing\u00e9nieux qui vont au-del\u00e0 du bo\u00eetier, du moteur ou du ch\u00e2ssis. C\u2019est le syst\u00e8me de refroidissement sur lequel il faut se concentrer. Shell a abandonn\u00e9 les circuits eau-glycol classiques qui s\u2019enroulent autour des modules de batterie dans les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques actuels. \u00c0 la place, l\u2019entreprise a immerg\u00e9 les cellules cylindriques directement dans un fluide di\u00e9lectrique de sa propre formulation.<\/p>\n<p>Cela peut sembler \u00eatre un ajustement mineur, mais c\u2019est en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 tr\u00e8s important. En immergeant les cellules dans un liquide non conducteur, la batterie maintient en permanence sa temp\u00e9rature optimale, m\u00eame lorsqu\u2019elle absorbe 175 kW pendant toute la dur\u00e9e d\u2019une recharge rapide.<\/p>\n<h4>Plafond thermique<\/h4>\n<p>Les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques \u00e0 recharge rapide les plus performants du moment peuvent atteindre 320 kW, voire plus, mais ils ne peuvent maintenir ces limites thermiques que pendant quelques minutes. Lorsque la temp\u00e9rature devient trop \u00e9lev\u00e9e, le logiciel limite le courant, ce qui entra\u00eene une chute brutale de la courbe de charge. Ce n\u2019est pas le cas de cette batterie. En effet, le bain de liquide a permis de supprimer la limite thermique.<\/p>\n<p>Ce concept s'adresse clairement aux acheteurs urbains qui ne disposent pas de borne de recharge \u00e0 domicile, c'est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 ceux qui ont besoin de recharger leur v\u00e9hicule lors de leurs d\u00e9placements et qui refusent d'attendre une demi-heure. Les enqu\u00eates men\u00e9es par Shell indiquent que 10 minutes constituent le seuil psychologique de tol\u00e9rance en mati\u00e8re de recharge publique.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-188688\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/newmobility.news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/Shell-Triple-10-2.jpg?resize=640%2C440&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"440\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c0 l'int\u00e9rieur, la voiture est \u00e9galement spacieuse. La petite batterie se loge sous la banquette arri\u00e8re et dans le coffre, ce qui laisse un espace confortable pour les pieds et \u00e9vite aux passagers d'avoir \u00e0 replier les genoux. L'habitacle lui-m\u00eame est minimaliste et \u00e9pur\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p>Un meilleur refroidissement permet \u00e9galement d'optimiser la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration d'\u00e9nergie lors du freinage r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ratif et de partager un m\u00eame circuit de radiateur entre le moteur et l'\u00e9lectronique de puissance. Ce fluide permet en outre de r\u00e9duire le poids, le co\u00fbt et la complexit\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<h4>Facile \u00e0 recycler<\/h4>\n<p>Shell pr\u00e9sente les chiffres \u00e0 l'appui : la batterie d'une capacit\u00e9 utile de 32 kWh qui en r\u00e9sulte co\u00fbte environ 25 % moins cher \u00e0 fabriquer qu'un bloc classique de capacit\u00e9 \u00e9quivalente. Elle est \u00e9galement plus facile \u00e0 d\u00e9monter. Il suffit de vidanger le liquide et de retirer les modules. En abandonnant les couches coll\u00e9es entre elles, le recyclage devient un jeu d'enfant.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>En mati\u00e8re de circularit\u00e9, le ch\u00e2ssis est moul\u00e9 \u00e0 partir d\u2019aluminium recycl\u00e9, ce qui, selon Shell, g\u00e9n\u00e8re 10 fois moins d\u2019\u00e9missions de CO\u2082 que le m\u00e9tal vierge. Cela repr\u00e9sente environ la moiti\u00e9 des \u00e9missions sur toute la dur\u00e9e de vie d'un v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique \u00e0 batterie europ\u00e9en type aujourd'hui, selon les chiffres de l'entreprise.<\/p>\n<h4>Vente du liquide<\/h4>\n<p>Mais la question demeure : pourquoi une entreprise p\u00e9troli\u00e8re et gazi\u00e8re, dont les ambitions en mati\u00e8re de neutralit\u00e9 carbone sont contest\u00e9es, fabrique-t-elle un petit v\u00e9hicule \u00e9lectrique ? Eh bien, c\u2019est parce qu\u2019elle veut vous vendre le carburant qu\u2019il contient. Et l\u2019\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 qui le recharge.<\/p>\n<p>La Triple10 arrive \u00e0 un moment int\u00e9ressant : les v\u00e9hicules \u00e9lectriques abordables sont la prochaine grande tendance, et ce concept b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d\u2019un soutien politique gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 une r\u00e9glementation europ\u00e9enne sp\u00e9cifique en mati\u00e8re de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 et de fabrication, qui devrait g\u00e9n\u00e9rer un v\u00e9ritable boom pour ces voitures, plus connues sous le nom d\u2019\u00ab E-cars \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Shell propose une approche prometteuse : une petite batterie, une voiture l\u00e9g\u00e8re, un circuit de refroidissement plus simple, le tout \u00e0 un prix plus abordable.
