Le gouvernement flamand s'appr\u00eate \u00e0 investir\u00a0<\/span>1,2 milliard d'euros dans des entreprises qui souhaitent capter leurs \u00e9missions de CO\u2082 plut\u00f4t que de les rejeter dans l'atmosph\u00e8re. <\/span>Le ministre-pr\u00e9sident Matthias Diependaele a annonc\u00e9 ce projet d'investissement.<\/span><\/p>\n

En f\u00e9vrier, le gouvernement a annonc\u00e9 un investissement de 2 milliards d'euros dans l'industrie flamande. Ces fonds sont destin\u00e9s \u00e0 soutenir les entreprises en difficult\u00e9 et \u00e0 les pr\u00e9parer pour l'avenir. <\/span><\/p>\n

Un milliard sera consacr\u00e9 \u00e0 des projets de capture et de stockage du carbone (CSC), en mettant l'accent sur les industries \u00e0 forte intensit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique relevant du syst\u00e8me europ\u00e9en d'\u00e9change de quotas d'\u00e9mission (SEQE), o\u00f9 les \u00e9missions de CO\u2082 sont difficiles \u00e0 \u00e9viter.\u00a0<\/span>Le CSC est un projet complexe qui ne peut aboutir sans subventions ; tous les projets existants en Europe n\u00e9cessitent le soutien des pouvoirs publics.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kairos<\/h4>\n

Par ailleurs, 800 millions d'euros sont allou\u00e9s \u00e0 la d\u00e9carbonisation sans pr\u00e9f\u00e9rence technologique, notamment \u00e0 des investissements dans l'\u00e9lectrification et l'innovation en mati\u00e8re de proc\u00e9d\u00e9s.\u00a0<\/span>Enfin, 200 millions d'euros sont allou\u00e9s au projet Kairos@C, auquel participent l'entreprise chimique BASF et le distributeur de gaz Air Liquide au port d'Anvers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Le projet tire son nom de Kairos (en grec ancien : \u039a\u03b1\u03b9\u03c1\u03cc\u03c2), une figure de la mythologie grecque qui incarne le moment opportun, l'occasion propice et le moment id\u00e9al.<\/span><\/p>\n

L'objectif est de capter, de liqu\u00e9fier, de transporter et de stocker jusqu'\u00e0 14 millions de tonnes de CO\u2082 dans un gisement de gaz d\u00e9saffect\u00e9 de la mer du Nord sur une p\u00e9riode de 10 ans. <\/span>Ce projet b\u00e9n\u00e9ficie d'un soutien du Fonds europ\u00e9en pour l'innovation \u2013 d'un montant de plus de 350 millions d'euros \u2013 et la Flandre est pr\u00eate \u00e0 y apporter une contribution suppl\u00e9mentaire de plus de 260 millions d'euros.\u00a0<\/span>Le projet Kairos@C est consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme essentiel pour la capture des \u00e9missions de CO\u2082 en Flandre.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2018 Le plus haut niveau de soutien \u2019<\/h4>\n

Le ministre de l'\u00c9nergie et du Climat, Hans Bonte, estime que ce soutien donne aux entreprises la confiance n\u00e9cessaire pour investir massivement dans l'\u00e9lectrification et la d\u00e9carbonisation. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c En partageant les risques et en conditionnant les aides \u00e0 une r\u00e9duction effective des \u00e9missions de CO\u2082, nous acc\u00e9l\u00e9rons la transition climatique et consolidons la pr\u00e9sence d'industries strat\u00e9giques et d'emplois en Flandre. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c Il s\u2019agit du soutien le plus important que nous ayons jamais accord\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019industrie flamande \u201d, d\u00e9clare le ministre-pr\u00e9sident Diependaele. \u201c Nous offrons \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 nos entreprises \u00e0 forte consommation d\u2019\u00e9nergie et aux entreprises de l\u2019ensemble du secteur industriel la clart\u00e9 et la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaires pour investir ici, en Flandre, dans l\u2019industrie de demain. \u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
