En g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, les temp\u00e9ratures de l'eau de mer atteignent leur pic en mars ou en avril, \u00e0 la suite de l'\u00e9t\u00e9 dans l'h\u00e9misph\u00e8re sud. Au cours des derniers mois, des temp\u00e9ratures de la mer (quasi) record ont \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement enregistr\u00e9es.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Cons\u00e9quences extr\u00eames<\/h4>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">La mer agit comme un immense tampon thermique. L'eau se r\u00e9chauffe beaucoup plus lentement que la terre, mais elle se refroidit \u00e9galement beaucoup plus lentement. De ce fait, la chaleur accumul\u00e9e au cours d'un long \u00e9t\u00e9 ensoleill\u00e9 peut rester emprisonn\u00e9e dans la couche sup\u00e9rieure de l'eau pendant des semaines. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">La combinaison du r\u00e9chauffement climatique, d'un ensoleillement abondant, de syst\u00e8mes de haute pression et de vents faibles a entra\u00een\u00e9 un r\u00e9chauffement exceptionnellement important de la mer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Le r\u00e9chauffement des eaux marines a des cons\u00e9quences tant pour l'homme que pour la nature. Par exemple, l'eau plus chaude fait monter le niveau de la mer, car elle se dilate lorsqu'elle se r\u00e9chauffe.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Les vagues de chaleur marines endommagent des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes importants, tels que les r\u00e9cifs coralliens, ce qui risque de mettre en p\u00e9ril l'ensemble de la cha\u00eene alimentaire. <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">De plus, le r\u00e9chauffement des eaux marines favorise \u00e9galement l'apparition de ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Un oc\u00e9an plus chaud lib\u00e8re davantage de chaleur et de vapeur d'eau dans l'atmosph\u00e8re, ce qui entra\u00eene des pr\u00e9cipitations plus abondantes et des temp\u00eates plus violentes.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\">Des oc\u00e9ans plus chauds ont \u00e9galement une capacit\u00e9 de stockage de CO\u2082 r\u00e9duite. En Europe, les temp\u00e9ratures record de la surface de la mer le long de l'Atlantique et de la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e occidentale ont \u00e9t\u00e9 associ\u00e9es \u00e0 des vagues de chaleur marines intenses ou extr\u00eames \u00e0 grande \u00e9chelle, qui ont affect\u00e9 les communaut\u00e9s c\u00f4ti\u00e8res et les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Eaux c\u00f4ti\u00e8res belges<\/h4>\n<p>En Belgique, des scientifiques ont d\u00e9couvert que <a href=\"https:\/\/newmobility.news\/fr\/2026\/07\/08\/from-shrimp-to-sting-climate-change-reshuffles-north-sea-coast\/\">biodiversit\u00e9<\/a><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"en\"> Dans les eaux c\u00f4ti\u00e8res belges, la faune marine a radicalement chang\u00e9 au cours des derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies en raison du r\u00e9chauffement climatique.
